Very cool stuff! Wardruna's music is featured on the TV series The Vikings, and I recall that their lead vocalist and songwriter Einar Selvik was even an actor in the series! AURORA never ceases to amaze with the sheer diversity and her mastery of various musical forms and fusions! Her brand new album -- just released -- is incredible!

Aurora and Wardruna both did a great job. This is a beautiful song and I love the Nordic vibes.

Viking music. Many traditional songs from this period have been lost. Wardruna writes new ones in the old way.
And of course this has to do with the Nordic faith. This song honors the dead, accompanies them to the next realm.
Nice to hear Aurora with you again.😁
Fun fact. The song was used in the video game Assassin Creed Vikings.

The last part with Einar is 2 verses from Håvamål. Håvamål means The high ones speech, the god Odin. Håvamål does not tell about the existence of the gods, but expresses human life wisdom in a form reminiscent of the proverbs. Wisdom, moderation, morality, prudence, courage, friendship and common sense are values that are valued. In addition, "legacy" (your reputation) is a very important part. Especially regarding the rumor after death.

This girl is so special I have no hesitation of putting her in my top 3 singer songwriter’s she is the essence of what the art of music should be all about her catalog of songs written from the age of 9 is mind blowing, and to think she has a catalog of unreleased songs that she has written that are amazing you should check them out especially a song called Animal soul it’s Aurora at her best just her and a piano and the first two lyrics of this song paint a picture of how great a songwriter she is,for her to have thought process of writing such beautiful words leaves me speechless, for me you can keep your mainstream music that churn out the same old cliches and lyrics Aurora is head and shoulders above anyone what a talent.stay safe lads ❤️🍎❤️🍎❤️

It's really good that you get that sense of being a bird souring on high . It's also a lot like a lullaby . You feel like you are being Rocked or lulled. This is the idea as this is meant to be a replacement for the old Death Songs, which lulled the ones who came before us into death and guided them over the bridge between life and death into the afterlife.

I was introduced to Norwegian music a few years ago by a close friend of mine. I enjoyed hearing the songs of Angelina Jordan, Aurora, and Sigrid. All are wonderful artists. There is a cover version of Helvegen you might be interested in by the Nordic group, "Kalandra"
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6by9cl24Cw]. Aurora admits that much of her music is "dark", She is one of the few artists that can turn dark music into something beautiful.

There's something deep and primeval in my Irish Celtic soul that straight-up shits itself when I hear traditional Viking folk music.

Very nice traditional Nordic sounds and Aurora has such beautiful voice, I enjoyed that cheers!

Great reaction 👍

Wardruna and Einar Selvik, as said in the comments, has several songs in the series Vikings. Einar has even small acting roles.

In “Helvegen” they sing in Norwegian, but in other songs he mixes.
This is what he says about the language he uses:
“My texts are a conglomeration of proto-Scandinavian, Norse, High Norwegian and my own North Hordaland dialect”, says Einar Selvik.

He plays some instruments he has made himself, that are from the Viking age👍🥰
