I agree that Vader is carrying empire on his back, so if you want to make a competitive list you would need a really good reason not to bring him.  Krennic is a staple for empire and should be in pretty much all lists, if you have commander Vader you might be able to get away with not bringing him depending on how you built your list, but he is a great second commander.

Great video, I hope for more empire vids as this faction needs help. I started collecting empire after Separatist and I still don’t really know what units are the best or how to make lists that have good synergy

I like Moff Gideon just because Ruthless is fun. I don't have any dark troopers though.

1:30 in my experience if I have a standby on an at-st my opponent is positioning outside of the front arc so I don’t get a shot with my standby shot

They need a generic commander so badly again! I would love to play Krennic from a gameplay standpoint but I don't want to be Heinrich Himmler from a... person... standpoint

Nice vid. Veers command cards are bad but he himself is good. Gideon is worse as his synergy with Dark troopers and they are not in a good place, his command cards push towards the battle force. Iden feels like a good 2nd commander for krennic or vader. Her 1 pip is fine, 2 pip is meh, and her 3 pip great with special forces for a strong turn 2 or 3. Her droid card from my experience rarely does anything and should be 1 pip like you said. Merc commanders i ignore outside of the merc faction. Krennic I feel is the best support commander for the cost in empire, has great command cards, allows empire to take up to 4 special forces with one being death troopers. I treat vader more like a beat stick the requires so many points and his command cards are either great or meh, I tend to run operative vader instead of command vader.

Really hoping the new commanders are splashy and provide some different flavour in the commander slot.

A lot of faith has been put into them to rejuvenate the faction and hopefully they move things in that direction!

Man iden was such a swing and a miss IMO. Seems to me AMG is really afraid of making strong units(depiste points balancing being a thing) and she's a result of that. Tactical would be a solid improvement and I think her 2 pip should give her arsenal 2 for the turn and order her plus a unit that also gets to recover. Maybe knock the grenade laucher to 4 red, but having it be a strong 2 pip bomb play would be awesome for her...vs what we have now with it :/

As a person whos more in touch with legion stuff, hows the game doing? Locally it kinda died for me which sucks cause I love the game.

Are there generic command units that aren't characters? I have never played legion and dont know anything about it, but I would play empire if I got into it.
