oh man, cant wait for the "expert" ball python and bearded dragon owners on reddit to hear about the air temp gradient

@IvynaJSpyder 8 days ago

Very interesting! I've never heard it explained like this, thank you for providing this info.

Oh my gosh!! Thank you for the valuable info!! I had no idea that all the info on this that I've been taught over the last 3 years has been so wrong

@k8m8a8n8 1 year ago

Holy that’s actually genius, but now knowing that it feels like common sense. I was putting the thermometer on the ground below the heat panel and I feel like an idiot doing that now.

The lateral equilibrium must obviously not hold forever, or the whole earth would be the same temperature at a given elevation.

I didn’t know this, but it honestly seems so simple and makes total sense.

So glad you made this. I've got a huge, long enclosure that I've been trying to heat. Everywhere I look always gives different information that's always conflicting and confusing. You managed to explain it clearly and understandably

I just got a snake and was so confused looking at guides. I was like is everybody stupid or is there something I’m missing.

👍🏿 Thank you my brother for this great information

I have a huge 4x6x2 cage for my BCC and I cannot manage to find ANYTHING to keep that big space warm enough for her. I HATE it, I don't know what to do!

Great video! I was wondering how to heat up the bottom of the enclosure in a tall enclosure. This video answered my question. Now it’s like how did I not think of installing a second heat source like a deep heat under a shelf

@mrstea1813 2 years ago

So essentially, due to hot air rising and it being cooler on the bottom of and enclosure, one can use a slightly taller enclosure for their bearded dragon and not have to stick to 4x2x2 dimensions? Like say I wanted to do a 5 foot by 2 foot by 3 foot high? Some say that would be too tall and temps will not be correct.

I love this and your channel !
Thanks for the information

I’m currently curious to see how I will keep my ambient temps on a 6ft enclosure
Top to bottom is very true !
But 8ft Long is a darn good spread of heat to radiate

My dad is setting up a big 230-gallon PVC enclosure for hermit crabs, but I’m lost on heating PLEASE HELP ! I’ve heard heat lamps dry out humidity and UTHs don’t work on PVC. Would lamps be okay for this type of tank? I really don’t know what I’m doing

I have 180x60x120cm enclosure for my 2 year old coastal carpet python and I’ve got the basking spot set up high on a branch and I’ve got it set to 30-35c° I’m just worried it’s not hot enough anywhere else for her because she never leaves that spot she’s my first snake and I’m just a little uneducated

@lewisclarke9910 2 years ago

Where do you put a ceramic heater bulb on beardies enclosure?

@jeffkeithly6659 8 months ago

The definition of semantic expert. Is it mentioned that the basking spot could get burning hot and harm your prisoner / pet / detainee? If you bolster the ambient one more time...
