Ok, here are my three ideas for detachment rules:

-Let gaunts and gargs be fielded in up to squads of 30, with an expanded coherency range of 12" instead of 9"

-Give our endless multitude units a 6+ FNP, and while they're in Synapse they also get a 6+ invuln

-Give us back the old teeming masses rule, where all models within 3" of an enemy are considered able to fight in melee

Theres a couple things that could happen - The replacement of a full destroyed unit like guard can.

Second - Like the deathguard detachment, having guants spawn on the edge of the board every second round

I think legitimately the single biggest factor to the playability of gaunts is the 9” unit bubble limit.

The fact that I can’t control the board and spread auras as efficiently is a huge issue for the old style of hoard lists

I would love to see Tyranids get one of the following 3 options:

1. Shadow of the Warp is changed to an army rule that let's Tyranid return a destroyed endless swarm unit into strategic reserves once per round, but they must be deployed in your deployment zone. (Perhaps, every other turn, or after a dice roll)

2. Hive Tyrants, Warriors (Melee, Ranged), & Tervigons, all gain the ability to lead endless swarm units or lone op while within 6" of them

3. Unending Swarm becomes 1DP and gains one of the above abilities, with the strat to bring an endless swarm unit back to life.

PLEASE GW GIVE BARBGAUNTS AND NEUROGAUNTS A PURPOSE AND MY MONEY IS YOURS

I feel like all gaunt units (terma, hormas, gargs, neuro, barb, maybe VRL) should get the "Gaunt" keyword and the gaunt spam detachment whould buff "Gaunt" units and because of how leading works character leading gaunts(primes and, if you are feeling creative, neurotyrant) would also get the "Gaunt" keyword so they would benefit. I feel like this would be a good thing because it would allow for more synergies between other detchments like a warrior one

I don’t want to see survivability, I want my hordes of haunts to be dangerous. Give me a plus 1 to wound or twin linked on my hormagaunts. I don’t care about +1 AP when they crit. I want you to be fearful for the safety of your infantry and low Toughness vehicles when they get charged by 3 units of gaunts. There needs to be reason to shoot at gaunts other than they’re easy to kill.

Since they are doing stuff to make army’s more lore accurate feeling, here is an idea. Have the battle line data sheets (termigaunt, hormigaunt, gargles) remain there and same costs, but the normal way to run them would be on the bigger bugs have a swarm option to bring one along for reduced points like the space wolf head takers wolfs.

Say on a big bug would be a 10 or 20 point upgrade for a 10/20 termigaunt
Unit. Some would have access to hormigaunts instead, tavigaunt could take 2 units instead of 1 for the cost, the flying hive tyrant could take 1 or 2 squads of gargoyles for 15/30.

Smaller bugs like say parisite could only select a min size squad of gargoyle , lashwipe prime could select hormigaunts for a 10 man. Ravaners and the sneaky bug like lictors would not get the option to take them.

Also like the wolfs the squads would not be attached to the unit in battle. So if you wanted a squad of hormigaunts to have a prime leading it, you need to pay the full cost of one to attach one.

Now with this, we would be countering the lethal meta/game with the ability to truely bring enough body’s to BE a problem. Also you don’t have to bring them and points for the adding and what units the bug could bring and full or half size squads could be tweaked.

I didn´t know that we have this detachment

Here what I think "Unending Swarm" should be:

UNENDING SWARM
Army Rules:
- In your Command phase, each [Endless Multitude] units from your army can [Heal] up to D3+1 lost wounds.
- "Tervigon", "Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip" and "Winged Tyranid Prime" units from your army have the [Endless Multitude] keyword.
Notes:
- Yes, "Tyranids Warrior" can benefit from this rules too if they are the bodyguard of a "Tyranid Prime".
- Plus even if the bodyguard unit is destroyed the "Tyranid Prime" is still considered an [Endless Multitude] unit, meaning the lost models can be brought back thanks to the [Heal].

Enhancements:
- "Tervigon" model only. (30pt)
While this model is within 3" of one or more friendly [Endless Multitude] units, this model has the "Lone Operative" ability.

- [Endless Multitude] unit only. [Upgrade] (20pt)
This unit has the "Stealth" ability.

Stratagems:
ENDLESS SWARM (1CP)
WHEN: Your Command phase.
TARGET: Up to two [Endless Multitude] units from your army that are within "Synapse Range" of your army, or one other [Endless Multitude] unit from your army.
EFFECT: You can [Heals] up to D3+3 lost wounds to each of the selected units.
Notes: Changed <<return up to D3+3 destroyed models>> Into <<[Heal]>>. With way both "Tyranid Prime" can still regenerate their wounds, even if they started the battle with no bodyguards units.

ADRENAL SURGE (2CP)
WHEN: Shooting Phase or Fighting Phase.
TARGET: Up to two [Endless Multitude] units from your army that are within "Synapse Range" of your army and are eligible to Shoot or Fight, or one other [Endless Multitude] unit from your army that is eligible to Shoot or Fight.
EFFECT: Until the end of the phase, each time a model in any of those selected units makes an attack, an unmodified Hit roll of 5+ scores a Critical Hit.
Note: Changed when this stratagem can be used, including the Shooting Phase.

HYPERSENSORY SCILLIA (2CP)
WHEN: End of opponent’s Movement phase.
TARGET: Up to two [Endless Multitude] units from your army that are within 8" of that enemy unit that are within "Synapse Range", or one other [Endless Multitude] unit from your army that is within 8" of that enemy unit.
EFFECT: Those selected units can each make a Normal move of up to D3+3".
RESTRICTIONS: You cannot target units that are within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units.
Notes: Changed when this stratagem can be used to the end of the opponent's Movement Phase and added the "Synapse Range" requirement.

P.S.
I think "Tervigon",  "Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip", "Winged Tyranid Prime" and even the "Tyranid Warrior" can massively benefit from this detachment.
Because of this, I suppose it should cost 2 Detachment Points, instead of only 1Detachment Point.

Either give us invul 6 or give us points like gsc where we can buy back certain infantry units

HAAAANK HAAAAANK DON’T ABBREVIATE DETACHMENT POINTS

I could see this version as a 1 DP.
But I'd like the genestealer cult ambush ability

It's a tough one.
I'd like them to be able to bring back destroyed units again or be able to bring in gaunts regularly like that death guard ability.
Extra survivability would be nice but actual survivability not d3 models back a turn when you're picking up handfuls.

As for giving them extra bite I do like the idea and I coukd see a whole system of keywords oran adaptability table but I think they'd better suited to work with existing buffing creatures and give them some extra protection to give you a reason to take gaunts as gaunts and as a unit giving something themselves.

I think there's an argument that Take and Hold works quite well with surge moves. You often want to get past the objectives with your front line and hold them with your second line. If you're opponent is fighting your units on the edge of their deployment zone they can't really take you off the middle objectives. Matt Evans on Into The Hive Mind has been showing this off with his invasion fleet battle reports, where his 40 hormagaunts (and Von Ryan's) often get past the objectives and surge into the opponent.

I've only ever played at 1000pts so my opinion is colored by that. However, I would love to see the Unending Swarm detachment ability be literally unending. Something like 1-2 Endless Multitude units can be brought back every round, no limits. But they can only come on from your battlefield edge, maybe No Man's Land too but never opponents battlefield edge. Then it is still a unique rule as opposed to Death Guard.

I would also love to see Termagants get just a little more bite. I swear with a full 20-man, lethal AND sustained AND Crits on 5+ I've only ever killed about half a unit at most. But I'm not sure how to give them more bite without them quickly becoming a problem if you have 60+ on the table; so I will accept if there is no lethality changes.

I personally would like to see the Unending Waves Strat lose the 1/per game cap or become 1 Command Point.

As a general improvements I would like to see for army wide and not just Unending swarm:

1) I would like the Tervigon to gain the leader keyword for Termagaunts. I personally think it is dumb it can boost Terms but can't actually lead them.
2) I would like to see the Neurogaunts be able to attach to the Neurotyrant and keep the ability to stretch out Synapse.
3) Or conversely if you don't give the Neurogaunts the ability to keep the Synapse Stretch going. Let an attached unit to the Neurotyrant extend out the 18" range for the Neurolid tokens to be around the Neurotyrants unit instead of the model.
4) Barring any of those options. Make them 60 pts for 10 and make them battleline with 2 OC.

I love the idea of Recon... just touching objectives can enough with a few hold objectives challenges mixed in.

My biggest thing with everything getting tougher, and our guys dieing in droves already, just getting extra toughness is not helpful, and frankly, its not super flavorful either, as lore wise, everything with a gun can kill 1 gaunt... but the thousands of gaunts imagery never really hits the tabletop(nor should it with individual units, good lord i dont want to paint all of those!). I would at least like to see a 5+ or 6+ invulnerable, so we get some kind of save roll and arent just removed if you throw enough shots that hit(makes a noticeable difference in syn nex)... especially with all the AP flying around new codexes.  We already have [endless multitude] keywords to seperate from traditional battleline. So maybe leave their toughness right where it is, but they are essentially endless units, that always return to reserves to be redeployed from table edges with standard screening applying (except maybe in our deployment zone if needed?). Gargoyles retain deepstrike so can ingress as now, and are much harder to screen.   VERY easily killed, but a constant threat to an opponents objectives game(Not sure how to interact with purge armies that doesn't just hand them max primary every turn though).

Drop cost of swarm units when in "swarm" with other swarm leader units. Allow swarm unit spawning to recover lost swarming units.....when getting points or achievements of specific types.

Hope they split the endless multitude detachment.
Melee one with hormagaunts, neurogaunts and von Ryan leapers (yes they belong to gaunts)

This could be akin to the one we got now

Then a ranged one for Termagant, Tervigon barbgaunts

Yes i know im leaving out Gargoyles but they don't fit with the others well
