People will say Arsenal are heavily hated and criticised by other fans and mainstream media because they have a large following on social media, and they are viewed as annoying and unbearable. However this disdain for Arsenal goes back many many decades. Arsenal had a Large Irish fanbase and many Irish players throughout the 70s. They had an already large black fanbase and many black players represented Arsenal through the 80s going into the 90s, then in the 90s they had a French manger who brought in many overseas players, not just overseas but many of those players were black also. Mainstream media hated the fact that a foreign manager came in broke the status quo and was successful. As this attitude towards Arsenal has become the norm, I'm sure a large number of young people don't know why they dislike Arsenal, they have just been told to do so with no real understanding. The media continues to feed inaccurate narratives about Arsenal simply because it draws clicks and engagement. Whats annoying is that the agenda driven narratives by mainstream media has helped create a problem that even Arsenal fans themselves have started to drink the coolaide, screaming for the manager to be sacked because they have a self entitled view, a lot of Arsenal fans online (I know twitter is not a real place) have completely forgotten how bad Arsenal were just 5 years ago.

George Graham, former Arsenal player and manager, famously said, "It's fine that people hate us, it's part of our history. We're The Arsenal. They hate us. Go out and be The Arsenal."

(I typed this comment before watching the video)

As an Arsenal fan for over 40 years, the hate has always been there. maybe jealously, maybe because we have always been multicultural. but the way you said "pub and pie  but we are more jerk and jolof" put everything into a modern perspective. absolutely loved this video and agree 100%. Some Arsenal fans need to stop being gullible to the media pundits and click bait YouTube channels and start thinking for themselves. that way they will also see the bigger picture of Arsenal hatred.

I remember when we had 3 leg breaks in 4 years. Diaby, Eduardo and Ramsey. No one from MSM ever thought to say "hey, maybe teams are going overboard here?"

As an Arsenal fan from America I've seen this a lot online but never knew about the historical and cultural context in England, thank you for the mini history lesson ❤️ love your channel

You're the first commentator to finally talk about the systematic Hate and the way that referees, VAR,  the media, and rival Fans structurally gaslight, misrepresent, and abuse the club. Well done.

im a jamaican and ive been genuinely confused about why our club is hated so much but i had no idea about the history and i can say it makes sense now, great video man.

Let’s be honest Arteta changed the club. He gets to see this through until the end, whatever end.

I’ve never had someone say exactly that’s been in my mind for ages in a literal 30 min video. As an African Arsenal fan who lives in the us, I can see the micro aggression in every single video you showed. Thank you for articulating it perfectly

This is why it will hit sooo sweet when Mikel finally gets us over the line. Rival fans will know no peace we will break the internet with our "insufferability"

Every single Arsenal fan has felt this, but there's no way to prove it so everyone just thinks you sound insane, then you get told you're playing the victim, or there's no conspiracy.
Notice the lack of uproar around Liverpool at the moment despite spending more than anyone, breaking the transfer record TWICE in one window, and they just lost 3 games in a row. Nobody cares. Strange. God forbid it was us.

I would highly recommend people rewatch Man United versus Arsenal when Arsenal lost their unbeaten run look at the tackles look at the referee look who cheated. Yet it’s Arsenal who are called weak, not strong enough and always cheating 🙄

The Myles racism was obvious and disgusting, but the worst part of it all, is I expected it.

People are starting to realise their negative feelings towards Arsenal are pure fear of what Arsenal will inevitably become.

I'm 65 yrs old, you covered many memories for me very truthfully and thoroughly. Well done for sure. Cheers ore

David Luiz red and pen vs Wolves...Everton game, where the player stepped on Tomiyasu's face and they did not even raise an eyebrow...Xhaka red card for getting the ball, never touching the player, Skelly red card vs Wolves, double yellow for Martinelli, Skelly Pen vs Everton, that Gyokares pen cancelled...amount of Crazy decisions is just unbelievable just in the last couple of years, its Insanity

It’s obvious that Arsenal were a meme to every other premier league fan for years until they started being competitive again. Now they’re annoyed so everything they do is magnified. But it’s a good sign that we’re back. Let them keep crying, we’re enjoying the ride 😊

Bro you've perfectly presented the things I've wanted someone to say for time. Thank you for calling out this biased agenda and showing receipts. For the life of me I can't understand how Arteta didn't get his flowers for what he did with our team last season. To have those many injuries and still be competitive in the CL and PL is a master stroke. To put it in perspective Tottenham had a similar injury record and went from being a top 4 team to nearly relegated, and yet we get hit with the "always runners up shtick.

Arteta got more "banter" for coming second in the PL and making the CL semi finals, without a starting front line, our best defender, and injuries to our best playmaker for months. Then Liverpool did the year they lost Van Dik and Allison to injuries and almost missed the top 4. 😂 I appreciate someone who's giving Arteta his flowers, it's the mans first managerial job and after 300 games he has the same amount of wins as Klopp. We all know Klopp won titles, but I don't know how people can act like Arteta is a bum.

These narratives are programmed into the psyche of football fans. As the PL became the world wide phenomenon that it was we all witnessed the decline of the great team that Wenger built. And as such the world became familiar with the PL and Arsenal during their descent, and so now we're in a place where the roles have changed and you have the like of Man United being a dumpster fire, rather then shed these old labels and criticise clubs as they are. Its easier to stick to what we know and find something to clown Arsenal about.

Thats coming to an end, I feel more and more fans are ending the nonsense. This season I want people to be consistent as for whatever reason the whole media is now jumping on the Arsenal bandwagon and we know they are going to turn on us as soon as we loose.

The hate against us is real. What's sad is that this is probably one of the classiest clubs in the world with a fan base with a genuine eye for good football. At the end of it all, we know this to be true about ourselves. Others will say what they must. But this is the people's club. They'll always hate that.

Guys it's simple, follow the money. Arsenal brings more engagement, and more engagement means more money

I'm a white Australian mate, and I could see clear as day, from across the pond, that the reaction to MLS mocking Haaland in retaliation was nothing more than straight up racism. Hell, even Haaland throwing the ball in the back of Gabriel's head was lauded. Once again, it's racism. I love Arsenal football club and I love the club's long and proud diverse culture, but I swear its made the club a target. What are we taking abuse for when Chelsea exists, a club that was associated with right wing politics? When Newcastle is owned by Saudi Arabia?
