Top 10 Cards That Change Game Rules

TheDuelLogs

The game of Yu-Gi-Oh is constantly evolving. New cards rise and fall over the years, and multiple new mechanics have changed the entire game (Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End, Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, Sangenpai Bident Dragon, Beyond the Pendulum, Number 39: Utopia). But change doesn’t just happen over time. There are cards that can instantly alter the structure of a Yu-Gi-Oh game, and those game changers are what this video is all about.

Top 10 Monsters that appear the most in card artworks

My LGS had a joke tournament at one point where convulsion of nature was always in effect. This inadvertently helped reveal that one player had been stacking the deck in his favor and he was banned from the tournament scene after.

I remember I had a meme deck that used the one Bamboo equip card and Terminal World as a lock: the Bamboo card, when equipped and the monster deals direct damage, causes your opponent to skip their next main phase 1. Then Terminal World causes them to not have a main phase 2, so essentially you pass turn and they get a Draw, Standby, and a Battle Phase. It was a terrible deck but it was funny when it worked.

As a more casual player, I love when Yugioh is at its most janky and wacky. I think it’s what makes it unique. Flip monsters too

Top 10 cards better in real life than in the anime/manga

Fun fact: Quiet Life is a certain Jojo villain's favorite card.

Terminal World basically turns the TCG to Duel Links. XD

"You guys have a Main Phase 2?" I'm sure I'm not the first to make that joke but here it is!

1:51 I have never felt so bad for a piece of cardboard for that brutal roast.

2:11 Can confirm, Hieroglyph is indeed part of my Self FTK deck.

Not sure if there are actually many cards that meet this criteria, but I thought “Top 10 cards which have longer text after problem-solving card text” might be interesting. I imagine this would be difficult to research, though.

1:40, as a kid that is why I thought it connected to God cards.

I miss the days of the 00's when the sets that were coming out were big and exciting. That sort of went away after Ancient Sanctuary. Not saying there weren't good cards after that but buying a box was always disappointing because since the set size was small, there were so many duplicate cards, they were disappointing to open. It was the end of an era.

I thought this videos was going to be about cards that were so powerful that Konami had to change the rules to balance the meta.

Another card that changes how you play is "Ceremonial Bell", which as a curiosity, the rules of the game indicate that you cannot flip the cards in your hand (except by mechanics or card effects), and since "Ceremonial Bell" forces you to play showing your hand, technically you are not allowed to flip a card so you can briefly read it (because surely having the hand reversed will cost you a bit to read your own cards), so you must look or read at your own hand tilting them up. It is just a technicality that is generated with this specific card playing in physical format.

Making monsters able to destroy spell/trap cards is direct reference to Yugi destroying the Moon.

17:00 it’s a gimmick card but tbh I enjoy using convulsion of nature in the more casual Yugioh games (against bots) just for a fun sneak peek of both decks. Like Yugioh legacy of the duelist

I think the Spell "Darkness Approaches" was a good candidate, the only possible way to have a Face-Down Attack Position monster, Pre-Errata. Which I get a kick out of.
