The only crime of this fight was that it didn't happen in 1968 or 69 when Ali was still at his peak. Because Ali brought out the best in Frazier.

The greatest fight in history. I will never forget it. Nothing like it  before or since. Mostly  because one champ in each division. Made title fights a rare event. Awesome night.

Ali was king, imperfect or not, Ali Frazier 1 was Frazier's best fight, he never fought that well again, he wanted to kill Ali in that fight, Frazier never looked better, Frazier went down hill from there, Ali had a few more great fights including The Rumble in the jungle and  The Thrilla in Manila, Frazier avoided Ali for 3 years until their first rematch in 1974, meanwhile Ali fought everyone and became champion again against Foreman, which was a work of genius.

Joe Frazier 4 inches= 10 cm too short and blind in one eye, still could beat Ali , enough said!!

@crownedful Wow, that's pretty pessimistic. I think Ali said the same thing about Joe Frazier that he did about a lot of his opponents, it was nothing personal. Funny thing is, Joe Frazier didn't even know what Uncle Tom even meant originally, he thought it was the same as a peeping tom LOL I think they both had great careers and had nothing to be ashamed of, they are both considered legends in the sport after all...

Unlikely as smokin' joe is no longer alive.  

Frazier had bitter feelings toward Ali right till the end - no friendship there.
