I try to keep those voices quiet. People are so pressured to be something, and then be so unhappy.

The novelty of being an adult and able to stay up as late as I want has never entirely worn off.

Rest is basically replenishment. It's not a waste. It's vital in order to maintain the strength to keep going. Keep going, Tess!

Not making time for yourself, time to just sit and do nothing if you will....usually leads to extreme burnout

You are neither behind nor ahead. You simply are. You are eternal. You are the best.

Work/life balance is so important thank you for the reminder

You’re really articulate with your message, and you’ve shared some fruitful thoughts.

Some times you need to have a reset and reflect period in your life.  Being able to stop yourself from doing stuff, enables you to reset and relax.  You do you

Hi, Tess!
Another interesting topic (as usual).
Comparison is the thief of joy. Considering life a competition, turns it in a never-ending race where the finish line is always moving ahead.
You must compare yourself to who you were yesterday.
Furthermore, if you really want to make comparisons, make them not just with people that you consider better than you but also with the ones that are in a bad situation (with severe disabilities, no money, serious depression, etc.).
Rest is necessary, not a reward to gain.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts: you're doing a great job with your channel.
Always by your side, Captain!

It's so true, when I've rested I get more done at
speed because I get rejuvenated

Rest IS progress. Rest IS evolve, rest  IS creativity. I know all this, but yet it's a challenge 😊

If the "rules" are making life too hard or unpleasant, re-write the rules and expectations.

Paused it at 60sec, only because just listening to what had been narrated--makes a for a great observation when I on a daily basis feel very much the same way. A great observation because when put into words from another human, makes me realize like other things I have experienced are not unique to me. The part of it for me, is as much as I keep myself going, I'm always unsure if I want to even be doing the things that I am keeping myself busy with. I don't want to miss out on life and the moments I am providing to keep it interesting. I don't want to make a long post, but just want to acknowledge appreciation for the content of the video :)

Don't let social media push your buttons and hook you on the reaction you have to seeing it. If you start to observe your own reaction to what you see on your phone, you start wondering whether you like the emotion.

Interesting to hear that others have the same problem.
Whenever I have free time, my mind is always thinking that I should be doing something constructive/productive rather than enjoy some downtime on the weekend after a long working week. It's been a never ending mental cycle for me for years now. Trying to break it is tough when you indeed see others "living the best life" online. It's toxic.
I'm slowly trying not to look at such stuff and find moments to enjoy myself and my life.

I hated resting because everyone else seemed to be moving while I was standing still. The guilt was constant, so I'd push through exhaustion, then crash, then feel worse. I was stuck in a loop of burnout and shame. Then I read The ADP Protocol Heal by Alexndra Jame and learned that rest wasn't the problem, my nervous system was. The 10-minute daily reset taught me how to pause without guilt. Thank you for this, I finally understand why I couldn't just relax.

"I go on pinterest every morning"
Talk about wasting time and falling behind

I live in peace, alone. I don´t care what others think/say. I just live and do what i want, many times doing nothing. Be free...

Have a good friend who thinks exactly like you on this, never sleeps always works. Feels bad about resting even when sick and she needs rest the most. But ig when you grow up like that its hard to slow down and realise that however hard you work and whatever you achieve in life simple things remain to be the most memorable. Life aint that long so we better use the most of it, right lol?
