22:44 - “Fetishization is dehumanization. Fetishization is not love. Love is between equals. You can’t be an equal if you’re fetishized b/c that means you’re sexualized as an object, you’re objectified.” 🎯 👏 📢

I will say the Haitian Proverb again:

"When people hate themselves, they send that hatred as vengence onto others."

Olandria didn't win but publicly she basically won. The winners took their money and split quietly. Meanwhile Olandria and Nic capitalized on people's obsession with them with branding and promotion

For some reason people think just because they're not attracted to someone no one else should be attracted to them neither.

I just wanna ad hudabeauty isn’t huda’s beauty brand it was just a influencer collab! The brand is owned by Huda Kattan ❤

I really admire your ability to handle difficult subjects like misogyny, racism, misogynoir, anti-fatness, etc without resorting to other bigotries and with enough levity to be enjoyable to casually watch. Like, sometimes videos about these topics feel so heavy and make me feel terrible because of the seriousness of the subject, but you have a real gift for storytelling and principled analysis.

Olandria is so unfathomably beautiful. i cannot believe the way ppl are treating her

Anti-blackness and misogynoir, especially online, is so casual that it's as second nature as breathing for some folks.

And the fact that it be considered "causal" in the first place makes me release a sigh so intense, it takes all the air outta my lungs.

This is why I told my friends to stop watching shows like love Island because it’s really disgusting underneath its mask when it treats women of color like this

As a MENA born Muslim coded woman myself, I think Huda has an identity crisis and she’s developed some very toxic coping mechanism around it. She’s got all the plastic surgery to remove her ethnic features. She feels entitled to be considered more desirable compared to back women because she sees proximity to whiteness as the benchmark. She also always sees herself as a helpless victim with no agency in all her social interactions. In many ways I feel sorry for her but she’s a grown woman and she’s been really damaging and hurtful to her fellow contestants. Why did I even watch this show, it made me feel gross! People like Huda need therapy and self reflection, not to be sprung into fame!

The way people treat Olandria is giving jealousy.

I’m sorry but SS Sweeney sent me into orbit so much I had to pause the video in order to return to Earth 😭

How are they calling the objectively beautiful woman ugly💀💀

I would like to add that minutes before the vile moment … Louis told Huda her breath stinks and that’s why he doesn’t have nose hair. Huda didn’t chuckle or holler. So there’s that.

She didn't win? Dawg she's the only person I know from love Island lmao

When you said “I wonder if she remembers,” talking about her being Palestinian if you look at her before and after all her surgery that statement is scary accurate because she completely changed all of her Palestinian features to fit a more Eurocentric and ambiguous looking persona. It really annoys me when people defend her because she’s Palestinian because this woman is the complete opposite of who should be hyped up as a role model. Especially for Palestinians in this climate. Overtly anti black (she hated when the black women on the show got attention over her.) extremely violent. The show cut out a lot but there were times she had injuries on her hands from hitting the walls. The violence also comes out with how she speaks and attacks and screams at people calling them out their name at the drop of a hat. She does not react the way normal people do or even people who are neurotypical who have healthy coping mechanisms. It’s deeply unsetting to watch how obsessed people are with her and extremely problematic behavior, but if any of the black women acted like that they would be ostracized and dragged through the mud. Also her entire body is fake but she’s a fitness instructor… I cannot stand a scammer 🤦‍♀️

😅 It is so frustrating being a blk woman in society. No matter what you do or don’t do, you’re hated for it while non-blk women are praised for the same thing or given the benefit of the doubt for the same thing. Just our mere existence pisses people off so much. I don’t understand why but I’m mentally exhausted. And what makes it even worse is that when blk women point this unfairness out we are told we’re exaggerating or we’re lying, or we’re just hating, etc.

“how she like her coffee…. how u think?!?” might be your best delivery yet, foreign 😭

A minor correction, Hudda Kattan, creator of Huda Beauty and Huda Mustafa from Love Island are two different Hudas
