Fighting a horde of undead without a cleric "It's been an honor fighting at your side" Cleric shows up "We better move or she's not going to leave anything for us to do"
I love how, what started as "how do I shoehorn in Ashley for one session?" became a mini redemption arc, with a God-mode entrance. best moment of the season.
I loved this scene so much. It completely shatters the "good and pious little healer" trope by having her swear like a madman and be a freaking badass.
Now this may sound rather odd But sometimes the best in the squad Is the one with the cross Who can smite like a boss By harnessing the Bitch-Slap of God.
With a mace that even ogres will flee You’ll cast and crush things with glee Some think they’re not strong And those people are wrong Welcome to a crap guide to D&D
As someone whose first full campaign was playing as a cleric, this scene was so nostalgic and makes me miss her. Though I was a much higher level before I even glimpsed this level of Epic.
When I saw this scene in the original show for the first time I was losing my MIND. Pike came in JUST at the right time and literally saved everyone's asses; this is by no means an exaggeration. It was magical and emotional and they did it such justice in the animated series.
a single, half-decent cleric on the field would have been plenty. the second-best thing to a clerical avatar of a god of light? yeh, I don't reckon they'd have bothered to run if they could. :P and enchanting every weapon on the field with divine light? if that's not a powerplay, I don't know what is. :D
