What do you think: is "Suspiria" Argento's masterpiece?  Or do you have another favorite?

Holy shit he's actually doing it.  He's referenced this one a thousand times and it's finally happening.

What many Italian horror films and Giallo movies of that era had in common was that directors managed to make do with modest budgets and threadbare plots, elevating the material through cinematography, direction, atmosphere, and inventive visual touches.
Thank you.

This is one of the most colorful movies I’ve ever seen, it’s like a box of crayons from hell lol

Suspiria feels like a waking nightmare. Such a brilliant film that will remain immortal.

The cinematography of this film feels like I am watching a literal art piece come to life

This film is such a triumph of style over substance.  In the best High Concept tradition, it boils down to one sentence: "Girl goes to ballet school in Germany that is really a witch's coven."  But the incredible cinematography, use of imbibition technicolor processes, and Goblin soundtrack elevate it to one of the greatest horror films ever made.  And NO, it is not a "Giallo."

Suspiria operates on an entirely different plane of existence. It’s the moment Argento stopped trying to make sense of the real world and decided to paint a living nightmare instead.

"He looks like he specializes in tattoos that are just numbers" was a brilliant and hilarious line. Good job, man.

I love how Dario managed to use bright vibrant colors and crazy sequences to creep people out.

Believe it or not, I only just saw this film for the first time about 5yrs ago. Mind you, I'm in my 50s.  I enjoyed the hell out of Suspiria. I can see why it's become a cult classic, though I can't imagine too many folks sitting thru it in movie theaters when it came out... But then again, we are talking the 70s here.  The movie's imagery and color are in a class by themselves.
"Wouldn't take injections from this guy; he looks like he specializes in tattoos that are just numbers."
Such raw wit.  Great flick!

This entire movie is like one giant Heavy Metal Acid Trip.

Seeing Suspiria get covered, I just wanted to say that the day that Brandon Tenold does a video on Zombi or Stage Fright is the day that I die happy.

The lighting in this movie was extremely influential.

She looks like someone erased all of Karen Allen's freckles.

12:59 that's Udo Kier?  Man, he was so young here.  RIP.  I enjoyed him as Yuri in Red Alert 2.

This movie is a true feast for the eyes. This is probably one of my favorite movies ever made, and most definitely my favorite horror film ever made.

I got to see a screening with goblin playing during it. Funny part was when he played a little bit of smooth criminal when she was sneaking

12:35 "Why does the school have a room like that?"
How else would a German ballet school store their barb wire? Duh....
