The video froze at around 12:50 for me but the audio kept going, I thought oh "Oh wow, what a meta way to cement the fact that he's low conscientiousness" but then I reloaded YT and it played normally
Anyone else became less conscientious in the way they draw since Gen Ai “art” became more and more common to see? Like I used to spend months on my digital drawings and would not share until I’m absolutely done with all the rendering, but now I’m fine with sharing the process and often prefer to see arts that have a lot of roughness to it
As an author that loves sitting alone in my root, tippity-tapping, I have found that my writing gets very stale if I have little to not contact with the world outside myself. You need stimuli to keep your ideas from turning into a whirlpool that, quite frankly, only ends up sucking you in. And that's coming from someone who actually enjoys losing sleep over the fictional, lmao.
Flashback to being in a band for a bit with two other people who were also extremely high on Agreeableness. We were so vague on direction and what we wanted to do haha
22:53 People tend to associate pain with intellectualism and depth and happiness with ignorance and obliviousness. When you are creating art not based upon pain it doesn’t make it any less intellectual or genuine; there are many different emotions that could be displayed in a similar light. A high neuroticism artist could veer away from expressing more positive emotions just as a low neuroticism artist would with pain. In the end it’s just about telling a story or painting a picture and expressing yourself within your respective medium. There is no heartbreak without love, there is no grievance without loss, there is no pain without joy.
Dang, I did not think of myself as a high conscientiousness artist but I am remembering back to a creative director I had who told me she would often scroll past my posts bc she literally thought they were ads due to the quality level :/ most brutal compliment I have ever received tbh.
I’ve been trying to be more messy with all of my art. It’s really helping me be more creative because not being perfectionist about it and just giving yourself the space to make mistakes means you have more chances to fix it. Just start over on your sketch right next to the first one. Play horrible chords you don’t normally see in conventional pieces and see how that swells the mood.
As a sloppy artist the best thing for me is to work with conscientiousness people, it's a pain in the ass for both I hate having to clean everything to their standards but filtering my work through them is the only way I actually do all the tedious necessary things.
