My CEA had climbed, and just before I was going to get my PET scan to use for comparison to the CEA results, the scan machine broke, and I had to get rescheduled. After a month delay, I got the PET scan and then some very good news from my oncologist.

In the meantime, we went on a one week vacation and enjoyed much cooler weather on the coast of northern California with some longtime friends that we rarely get to spend time with, due to distance between where we all live.

I have been Stage IV for over six years, and am hopeful that while I undergo treatment, that either a solution is found that will keep me enjoying life for another 10-, 20-, or even 30 years...even better, it would be wonderful if a cure can be found.

Colorectal cancers are on the rise worldwide and in the U.S. The largest growing segment of our population who is being diagnosed are those under the age of 50. Especially alarming are the numbers of men and women being diagnosed in their 20s and 30s. The key to success is early detection.
