Dimps didn't develop Sonic's GBA shitshow... Sonic team did using Sonic advance's engine which Sonic 1 wasn't designed for...

If I was a billionaire, I’d give you FULL FUNDING for that Cars 2 remaster. That’s my childhood game right there.

Correction about Sonic Genesis GBA: It wasn’t made by Dimps, rather SEGA Of America made it in-house, since there’s no credit towards Dimps in the instruction manual where it credits the Sonic Genesis GBA devs.

Also Classic Collection actually runs significantly better on the DSi than the OG DS/ DS Lite, since I think it’s the only game playable on all DS iterations that actively takes advantage of the slightly powered hardware of the DSi.

I’m sorry, ranking the older AtGames Genesis version higher than Sonic Classic Collection HAS to be a crime in at least 14 states.

Wow I didn’t think THAT many versions of Sonic 1 existed.
But I agree Sonic 1 (2013) and Origins are the best way to play Sonic 1.

4:14 wow that sounded like sonic well done

2:15 Actually, that wasn't a JPN version issue. The YM2612 was very hard to emulate properly before M2 came along, so that sound in most Sonic ports is just a consequence of bad sound driver emulation. It's present in the Genesis Classics Collection as well.

18:12 and now it’s getting delisted… screams in pure agony intro a pillow

Dimp weren't the ones who made this. Sonic Team utilized their advance engine to make this game. Technically they would've made one from scratch.

Ultimate Genesis Collection is all I needed to see

13:05 Sonic 1 was also on the PlayStation 3 version

Classic collection is how I played the OG trilogy properly for the first time. I don’t recall any visual bugs being present, unless you play it on a 3DS system. Regular stages are okay from what I remember but special stages (at least in S3K) are a freak show.

6:04 Rerez is an underrated channel. I couldn’t help but smile hearing a clip from Rerez's AtGames Firecore review.

The MegaPlay version isn't the only release of Sonic 1 for arcades. There also existed the MegaTech, which was available everywhere else apart from Japan and had Sonic 1 as one of the games. It's mostly the same as the original version, but the machine itself has a timer which goes down and goes up when you put more coins in the machine.

19:41 SONIC ZOMBIES MENTIONED

7:07 I like that remix of the 1up jingle

I remember playing Sonic Classic Collection during my childhood and I think it was a pretty good collection.

19:28 It was also available on FireTV as part of the SEGA Classics collection.

it's crazy that there are this many versions of Sonic 1. you know what else is crazy? that the low taper fade meme is STILL MASSIVE!! I'm still seeing new videos of it everyday

Love your videos, dude!! Especially the jokes. I NEED a Cars 2 remaster
