Synopsis:Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. An eternal optimist, and a bit of a scoundrel, he loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Facing the crumbling of his life's ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: a mouse, a timid elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine.

Some quick facts about THAT group:

1. They were singing J-pop
2. They're red pandas
3. Translation of what Moon said to them in Japanese: "Your routine stinks. You smell like feet/toenails."

Watching this movie years ago was such a gem. Didn't know Taron and Scarlett can sing.

"I know all of the musical theatre kids loved this." YES! Yes we did.

Taron singing “I’m Still Standing (Elton John)” got him on Elton Johns radar. Elton then did Kingsman 2 with Taron. After Kingsman 2, Elton decided to have Taron play him in Rocketman which is an AMAZING movie

People call Sing a musical version of Zootopia just because they were both released in 2016 and have anthropomorphic animals.

Taron Egerton is always a win, but this film also introduced me to the powerhouse Tori Kelly.

26:42 "Holy-! This pig is so hot, she almost turned into bacon!" PLS that's the best reaction I've heard so far!

16:13 - 16:21 With Ash, the main porcupine (not a hedgehog), being voiced by Scarlett Johansson, a lot of people manage to miss the fact that the other female porcupine, Becky, was voiced by voice acting legend, Tara Strong.

At the time they made this movie, Taron Egerton was up for the role as Elton John in Rocketman, but they needed to know if he could sing.

So they changed his song at the end to I'm Still Standing, and used it as his audition.

Naturally he killed it, and they picked him on the spot.

I highly recommend watching Rocketman. Taron's performance in this earned him the role and he played it to perfection

"He's so cute, no one hates koalas"
Me: contemplating whether or not I should ruin everyone's day with some koala facts

Fun fact: Johnny actually CAUSED the crash at 19:28 when he was speeding to the Moon Theater…you can see it in the background

The only hateful character in Sing is Mike. He literally robbed a monkey's money, he also cheated in a card game, he also said "Moon's got my money" in order to save himself. Even though he's a mouse on the outside, he's a true rat on the inside.

If i had a nickel for every time Taron Eagerton sang "still standing" in a movie, i'd have 2 nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's wierd that its happened twice.
