They harp on how they expect their employees to go above and beyond. That's code for expecting a ton of free overtime from their employees. Bye.

If the employer has to remind you THAT many times to not talk to anyone about what you saw...IMMEDIATE red flag

2:27.  Had to take an IQ test to work at a company owned by Scientologists.  The only way to pass that IQ test is to not take the job.

My dad interviewed for a job as an executive at a hospice company, and the person interviewing him said “work life balance should be a dirty word”. He didn’t take the job.

Artificial smile "You shall not talk about what you see here. Also, do not mention the war in front of the king. There is no war within the walls of Ba Sing Sei."

The guy should report the "company" on the last reddit post. That is waaaay to sketchy.

"Oh. We thought you were a man based off of your name. We can still interview you if you want"

I hope the last OP reported that company- those people may have been trafficked for labour or something, judging by how sketchy this company sounds. The more "Don't tell anyone" I hear, the more worried I get

''How much are you willing to receive as salary?'' I swear, that question is impossible to answer.
Too much? You're being greedy.
Too low? You're either a softy, or don't care enough about the job.
Spot on answer? You're too nosy.

How about YOU, who work for the company, tell ME how much the job pays. This is assuming the ads you used to apply do not disclose this information.

Also, ''Thank you, we'll call you in a couple of weeks'' = You're not hired, look for a job elsewhere.

Was a DJ in college and got recruited by a local live events company to work for them on weekends. Called them a couple days later, got direct to the owner. He said they had an event coming up, they were really busy (understandable), and that they'd call me back on Monday.

It's been 11 years. Must have been one hell of an event.

Any job that says
“You can make X in X months!”
Or, I think even worse is
“You can be in X position in X time frame”
🙄

I'm pretty sure it's not legal for an employer to make you attend religious services.

"partied so hard he developed severe epilepsy" Is that medically possible?

The employer wanting a reply in a day but not responding In a month really got to me as I have times at my university (uni) where lecturer send email about things happening in 10 minutes but don’t respond in 24hr when an assignment is due in 36hr

Fun Fact: Australian Case Law now says that any marketing scheme where the majority of expected/claimed earnings come from the results of recruiting others into the scheme qualifies as an illegal pyramid scheme.  As a result of this ruling, a particular company which is known for marketing good quality but very expensive food storage containers was forced to offer full refunds to everyone who had joined their MLM scheme.

"We pride ourselves on paying below industry standard"   "You'll make what you asking with 20 hours overtime every week"  Those two lines I heard at the same job interview.  I din't take the job.

Well, I guess my "worst" interview I ever had actually went perfectly. Interviewed, got accepted for the position and just had to wait over the weekend for a start date. Then covid hit and the company had to shut down for 3 months. Kept in contact with the boss who interviewed me, and then he suddenly stopped answering calls and texts. After 2 weeks of him not responding, I called a buddy of mine that I knew worked there. Turned out, the boss DIED, and since the shop was shut down, nobody could get my contact information to let me know. So, long story short, I got the phone number of the new boss, got a start date and then started working full time as soon as the covid shutdown ended.

As someone waiting to hear back from a place, I think I'll follow the, "if they expect you to get back to them but don't get back to you" advice.

I once interviewed for a financial planner job. There where red flags from the start. First, I never applied for the job. Second, it was in the camping section of Walmart.

When I applied for a trainee job after Ems school I was asked about my motivation, so I described how I wanted to train and hone my skills to become better, for masters learn by practice. The interviewer answered, 'We all are perfect in here. So why would we hire someone who Isn't?' Well, I went out and never heard from them or thought about it again.
