We are a couple in our 60s who, after retirement, continue our journey around Japan in a campervan. We travel as if we were living there, and this trip marks the end of our journey through Gifu Prefecture.

We walk through towns, experience local culture, enjoy local cuisine, and live as we normally would in our travel destinations.

We eat what we want to eat and go where we want to go. We don't cram too much into our schedule, we don't rush, and we travel freely and spontaneously.

This kind of travel lifestyle is something we've always dreamed of after retirement.

This time, we visited places like the historic "Udatsu-lined townscape," Mino Bridge, Nagara River, Sekigahara, and Gujo Hachiman, while also enjoying plenty of Gifu's local flavors.

Inside the campervan, we made Gifu's famous Keichan chicken dish for dinner. And, as is typical of our campervan life, we encountered a minor problem: the lights wouldn't turn on.

Dad checked under the bed to find the cause.

The time we spend sightseeing, the time we spend living in the campervan, and even the little troubles—it's all part of the journey.

We are quietly enjoying the unhurried days after retirement that we've always longed for.
