After retirement, we are a couple in our 60s traveling around Japan, living on the road in our campervan.
During our journey, I was suddenly struck by abdominal pain in Nagano. We had to make a difficult decision: should we continue traveling, or return home to Hokkaido?
In the end, we changed our plans and began our journey home.
We traveled north through Niigata, Yamagata, and Akita.
In this episode, we continue from Akita to Aomori.
Along the way, we enjoy local food, make little detours, and take in the scenery.
Inside our campervan, we share meals and talk together just as we always do.
We continue north at our own pace.
Even on the way home, our everyday life on the road continues.
Finally, we arrive in Aomori and board the ferry.
Across the sea lies Hokkaido.
This journey may have ended differently from what we had imagined, but going home is also a step toward what comes next.
Life is long. We can always set off again.
This time, we travel from Akita to Aomori, then cross the sea to Hokkaido.
This is the final episode of our journey home as a couple in our 60s.

津軽海峡を渡るフェリーはそれぞれの思いを乗せてるんですね〜、とちょっとセンチメンタルになります。

青森地震の日は道の駅 上品の郷に居て、めっちゃ揺れて怖かったです😱。海岸沿いルートをあきらめR4に変更して北へ向かいました。
私はその次の日の津軽海峡フェリー⛴️に乗って入道したので1日違いやったようですね😊
