Checking and adjusting the valves on a single cylinder Kohler Courage engine. This motor is a SV590 19hp model but the same procedure and specifications apply to many Kohler Courage engines.

Valve lash / clearance specifications:
Intake: 0.005 in. / 0.127 mm
Exhaust: 0.007 in. / 0.178 mm

I love how happy you guys always are, no matter what you guys are just always joyful to watch. You guys are living life slow slowly (if that makes any sense) which is good. Keep up the amazing content. One day it would be cool to meet you guys or have to come help me with some of my customers bikes! Sorry to resurrect an old video, the difficulty finding the exact TDC comes from the dwell of the piston at TDC and the crank reaches it full throw, levels out, and then begins to pull the piston back down again. That’s why you can get a few degrees of rotation but the straw never changed much.
