no but the "aw tenna is cool" to "i snort spamtenna everyday" pipeline is insane

THE MAKEUP GOES SO HARD

it says on some posters that spamton was associated with "Big Shot Autos!" so i always assumed he was a used car salesman, therefore the heavy associations with TV!

I have so many extra things I want to add to this beautiful SpamTenna bonfire! 🔥

1) SOUTH OF THE BORDER from Chapter 3 is definitely a reference to the famous Frank Sinatra song with the same name. The song is about a man falling in love with a woman in Mexico, promises they would be together forever, and then he suddenly leaves her. Years later, the man visits Mexico again and discovers the woman has moved on. I feel like the lyrics of this song fit SpamTenna so much! It hurts! "Cause it was fiesta, and we were so GAY!"

2) I fully agree with your interpretation of both Spamton and Tenna wanting to be more than their original purposes. Spamton got to experience that a bit during his Big Shot era. He got upgraded from being just spam email advertising to full on advertising on TV! That's a MASSIVE JUMP in the world of advertising.

3) Adding onto my second point. Spamton was likely the MAIN sponsor for Tenna's shows. All the prizes you could win on Tenna's show were probably Big Shot Autos merch and cars. It's just like real life. Most TV shows rely on their sponsers and advertising to stay afloat. Advertising needs a platform/medium, like TV, to advertise to the audience! Meaning, TV (Tenna) and advertising (Spamton) literally depend on each other in order for them to exist.

4) "Mr. (Ant) Tenna's TV Time" was probably "Spamton & Tenna's TV Time". It surprisingly fits REALLY WELL! Just sing it out loud. It sounds a lot better! That's because Tenna edited out all the parts with Spamton. Tenna's intro was meant to be for both of them. Tenna literally points to a smaller version of himself and says, "Say it with HIM, folks!" That's supposed to be SPAMTON!

5) Adding onto my fourth point. No American TV show host EVER introduces themselves! They ALWAYS have an announcer guy who properly introduces the star host and discusses the prizes. Just look at Wheel of Fortune or Family Feud. Spamton was probably the announcer guy! He would be showing the audience all the cool prizes, which were all Big Shot Auto themed, since he was the sponsor!!!

6) This is mostly my headcanon, but to me, Spamton ABSOLUTELY had a GRINDSET MINDSET or was just a workaholic. like, this is what I believe his responsibilities were during his Big Shot era:
Writing up and sending out thousands of spam emails, creating and starring in advertisements for Tenna and Queen, selling cars, bow ties, juice, and other crap, making deals, inventing, sponsoring, reviewing Tenna's scripts and ratings as any sponsor would do, and announcer guy/co-host for Tenna's show. Not to mention the other stuff Gaster might have gotten Spamton to do...

No wonder Spamton felt so betrayed by everyone. All his connections severed so suddenly. It's supernatural. Especially his connection to Tenna. He invented so much of himself into Tenna and the show. Seriously, no wonder he wanted to kill Tenna. LET'S TURN THOSE CATHODE SCREENS INTO CATHODE SCREAMS...

Poor guy...

Happy to be of service.

My Spamtenna addiction started with the Pipis in the closet and it was all down hill from there. I now have a folder dedicated to these old men

We dont know that spamton "wasnt doing his job" We actually dont even know if he started praying in the basement before or after things went downhill. The addisons imply that his sales dropping was a sudden crash.

26:30 imagine breaking into a parallel universe just to trauma dump about your ex to an alternate version of the person who kicked your ass

There’s nothing I ever want more than deep emotionally mature honest conversations between characters to correct misunderstandings and getting closure before amicably parting ways. Is that going to happen? No. Can I dream about it? Absolutely

Gonna be honest. It was the fanfic "Beyond Repair" by manofthepipis on AO3. Within a week of discovering it I had reread it 37 times.

it’s interesting that you mentioned the whole “is it better to have loved and lost or never to have loved at all” conflict because i think that really is the core conflict of deltarune (that i mentioned in my latest video shameless plug sorry). like ralsei doesn’t want to develop a sense of purpose because he believes the nature of the last prophecy makes his existence ephemeral, but what he doesn’t acknowledge is that he can still cherish his time with kris and susie while he can and he deserves happiness in the meantime, no matter how his story ends

i love a good spamtenna yap session. the layers of these games just never ceaces to astound me because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE’S A TV AND A MAILBOX IN THE TRASH HEAP IN UNDERTALE

so we really all had the same experience with The Spamtenna Video

To answer your questions, Spamton sold cars, specifically the “cungadero” he’s so fond of

5:24 I could be wrong, but I was always under the impression that Spamton was selling all sorts of stuff (like the bowties), but his main thing was his big shot car, the Cungadero. I know that there's official merch of him riding one (I know that the merch isn't canon, but I'm still under the impression that these cars were his thing)

Edit: Unrelated sidenote but I love the video so far! It's so well made! I need more! Immediately subscribed ❤

43:18 THE IDEA OF PARADISE PARADISE BEING A SPAMTENNA SONG WITH THEM SINGING TO ONE ANOTHER IS ACTUALLY PRETTY SWEET OH MY GOD☹️☹️ (I'm stealing that idea now thx)

I like spamtenna because they’re two grown ass masculine (relatively) men in a relationship and I feel like we just don’t see that too often

Don’t worry, I’ve been deeply studying all the required reading because I see Deltarune video and I click

2:20 the spamtenna supercut sold me in, the vee hoffman video shot me and the tenna plushie promos buried me. and the spy vs spy comparison pissed in my grave. damn you tony!!!!!!!

"echos of spamton everywhere" 23:33, this is very true, gotta say. I have only watched a single gameplay of DR and was from an spanish youtuber that doesnt actually follow online the game updates, only enjoys casually Toby Fox games. And upon knowing Tenna for like 10 minutes, this streamer was like "Duude, this TV man reminds me so much of that other weird dude from prev episode... what was his name?" and in middle of a Tenna's dialogue, the streamer screamed "SPAMTON!! Does Tenna knows Spamton? He reminds me so much of him, whats up with that?" Like, this streamer didnt event refreshed his memory from anything from prev episodes but Spamton left him with such strong impression that Tenna reminded him of Spamton. I love when people spend so much time around the same person, that they start to share similar ways to talk and act, I think this happened with these two.
