Ok, so waiting for your reaction to be my first listen to all the new tracks was obviously a great decision, you did not disappoint. I think we all filled our "Ash facial expression" bingo cards on this one! My overall impression first, and then quick hits on each track. The album is easily their most mature yet. From the depth and breadth of the lyrics, the musical influences, the technical ability, and the production from Anton DeLost is first rate. Dany keeps getting better somehow, she's just a powerhouse vocalist, guitarist and frontwoman. A quibble is the lack of a Pau lead vocal, but otherwise her backing vocals and drumming are top notch as usual. Ale just keeps pumping out incredible bass lines, as solid as ever. TW still have not made a bad, or even mediocre song yet - that streak still stands. This is, yet another, incredible album from this trio. Definitely an Album of the Year candidate.

On the tracks:

Ritual - It sets the tone for the whole album. Dany with a great mix of soft, yet powerful vocals and great riffs. Pau and Ale provide the solid rhythm section.
Perfect Daughter - Dany’s vocals are so beautifully restrained. Then she picks up the intensity. The lyrics appear to call out their fans that won't let them grow up.
Everything’s Falling - 😭 THE LYRICS! Just a gorgeous melody & vocals. The emotion Dany brings is devastating.
Why Do You Like it When I Cry - Early choice for album favourite. Production is perfect. Dany's vocals are insane - Pau's scream is incredible.
Bite my Tongue - Dany with the Hayley Williams (True Believer) like vocal. This goes HARD - great production too.
Kill or be Killed - Great rock song - Pau bell is back! Backing vocals are fabulous.
Ego - Probably the hardest rock song on the album. Pau scream on point! Let's hope for the Latin Grammy on this one.
Bloodsport - THE BASS! Maybe the funkiest TW song ever. Ale's riff is great, very Muse-like. Great little Dany solo.
Break - SO GOOD MY GOD! So beautiful. Chills on the instrumental break & solo. Dany's vocals just melt me! Ok, maybe this one is my favourite lol
Bruises - probably my least favourite on the album (I'm not a reggaeton fan), but it has some interesting bits as well and is still a good song
Waste Your Time On Me - THE DRUMS! The dirty bass! DAMN DANY! Now THIS may be my favourite lol. What an incredible hard driven rock song. Production is fantastic.
Kerosene - Damn near perfection. No surprise this song became a #1 hit

Fantastic reaction once again, Ash. I truly appreciate your thoughts and breakdowns on each song. 👍

PS - Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. In your own words, you are a GEM and I appreciate you so much! ❤

As an old male rocker I am not embarrassed to just love this “girly” album. These ladies made the biggest leap in their lives, putting all their personal but foremost female feelings in these new songs , lyrically as well as musically, I am so flippin’ proud of them and since the album came out I can’t stop listening to this album. Keep on rocking 🤘

After this album, many more people will discover The Warning, but Daniela Villarreal will become a name the whole world knows.

Oh yeah! Finally! The person whose reaction I was most eager to see. You are very dear to TWA.

Feb 5 2027 headlining show in 65,000 capacity venue in Mexico City with special guests The Linda Linda's. The same place where The Warning opened for Foo Fighters! 😀

Seeing them do promo and interviews for the new album, I think it’s safe to assume that they are OK, they are doing fine. I think it’s healthy for them, at this point in their career, to be questioning the price of fame, to be wondering what it all means, and to be calling out the creeps and haters who send negative energy their way.

The Warning is their own genre

3000 years of woman suffering, now we have three sisters from Mexico writing really powerful music with emotions that every woman can embrace. Whatever you feel, they're expressing it. Such an incredible evolution (pun intended)...they're the best of the best. Have courage, they sure do! One ❤

I'm smelling Grammys all over this album.

This album was absolutely everything I wanted, I just didn't know it until now.

Bloodsport + Ale = Perfection!!!!

For me this album is a statement addressing the negatives they’ve experienced throughout their career thus far. Fame has a price and this album is their therapy session put to music…Aesop-“If you try to please all, you please none”⚡️

What a well crafted album. It really shows off their musicality. Dany's vocals are superb.

Just watched the new Zack Sang interview. It's a must-see. They go over the entire process of composing and the meaning of the songs. What you say here is largely confirmed by what they said in the interview.

This album is a masterpiece. The lyrics, vocals and music!!!!!

Ale did say that Bloodsport is her favorite song from this album. So, you nailed it! :-D

Waste your time on me is my favourite too! Love it!

Ale mentioned in an interview she offered to play as many parts as possible to give Dany some help since she has such an enormous vocal load to carry on this record.

I think that’s at least part of the reason the bass has that super thick tone.  She’s carrying a much bigger load here, and my God does it work.  The harder this band leans on Ale, the better they are.  She’s just that great.

Its absolutely amazing.... every single song. The feminine tone in Danys voice is just divine. And, Ashlena, your facial expressions give me life 😂. I imagine i probably made similar ones my first play through.

It's clear to me, one of the terminally online, that a lot of criticism is coming from people who have no connection to the experience of young women in the public spotlight. Their earlier albums were more conceptual and based on stories they constructed around ideas and things they read and watched. That makes sense--they were young. Now they've traveled the world and had to fight for their rights. This album reflects more of their own personal experiences in a tough industry, growing up in the spotlight, and being very aware of the opinions of their detractors and their fan base (the criticism from the folks supposedly closest to you is particularly wounding, IMO). They also have diverse musical tastes and influences--rock, alt rock, pop, punk, k-pop, even classical. For them to integrate and infuse that into their songs makes perfect sense. I love that no matter what they do, you always know you're listening to The Warning. They are very deliberate with the decisions they make when they write a song. I could second guess those creative choices, or I could just rock out with them. I'll choose the latter every time!
Love your passion and insight, Ash! Don't be sad for them. They are lucky enough to have each other for support. They mentioned that during the writing of this album that they learned things that they didn't know about each other. This album sounds like catharsis to me. Looking forward to hearing these songs in concert--they always take on a completely new life. Regards to Conrad!
