spoiler-free mini-review: I like a lot of the storytelling here, and the documents and components are good. Half-way through we felt like it was going to be a great case. But by the end we were pretty disappointed by how minimal the evidence was that let us identify the culprit, and there were unresolved clues, and a bit of real self-contradictory reasoning required. A shame because this one could have been great. But it needed another round of fine tuning.
I call foul! At one point, you said you were going to apply the fake tattoo later in the stream, and then you didn't. I've seen you do all kinds of wacky things during these livestreams, Jesse! You've attempted a magic spell, you've burned crazy incense, you've taken an expired arsenic pill from a Dennis Wheatley game, and you've even told one of your mother's jokes about penguins at the zoo. I was hoping "get inked (even if it's fake)" would be added to the list. : )
Thanks for streaming this. I agree with one of the endstream observations that this felt like the writer thinking "ooh, it would be creepy if a murderer tattooed his victim posthumously" and then failed to come up with a satisfying rationale for the deed. Still, I enjoyed a mystery set in the comptemporary culture of tattoo artists, It was an interesting setting, at least.
