Loneliness can rot away so much more than any cancer.

This movie makes me think. Life, love, ambitions, relationships, etc. I remember someone once said 'We come alone, we leave alone. This is fundamental fact of life.' I appreciate that now.

You can't ask for help randomly... The helper could be even more psychotic !

Excellent acting and an extremely thought-provoking video.

I spent nearly 50 years feeling the same way. Until I finally decided I was worth fighting for.

The last moment of possible choice to live was taken away from her, which is what so often happens in so called assisted dying when we can't perceive the inner struggling anguish of the 'client' who is suffocating or drowning or worse under injected chemicals and can no longer tell us that she wants to live.

Great acting

Love British Drama

Very thought provoking 😢

Great actors.

Great film and acting
Short films are amazing

I guess she lied about having cancer and this whole setup was so when she chooses to die, she doesn't die alone.

Sad to think that she packed up and labelled leaving all her earthly possessions to others all on her own not wanting anyone to know, not wanting to call anyone or leave a note.

Her depression could be that no one paid attention to her while alive so why involve them of this final decision, I mean if no one cared before why would they now.

Then to see the silence she left behind in the house.  Makes you wonder how futile it was working all that time to leave an empty home.

It's an experience I felt when entering my mother's house after she was pronounced dead and to stand in the middle of that silence knowing she will never, ever return.  It was truly and simply a house and no longer felt like a home without her.

Helium itself is not chemically toxic or poisonous. It is an inert gas that becomes lethal in this context by displacing oxygen, causing rapid hypoxia (asphyxiation) when breathed in a pure or near-pure form. That is why it appears in the film’s depiction of assisted suicide (paired with the balloon imagery noted in production materials).

Toby Jones played Ollie Weeks in the 2007 horror film The Mist. Excellent actor🎬

Am I the only one to notice he didn't have his collar on when he left the house? To me, that indicates he was a fraud. At that point he had no interest in misleading any passersby that he was carrying helium to a children's party, dismissively releasing the two balloons. I think he may well have been a villain, or at the very least, a nonbeliever in the religion he was promoting. Extremely well done.

Thank you for this beautiful film which says so very much ....

I could imagine Toby  Jones in "Moral Man" , meeting up with "Death" from Ingmar Bergman's  "The Seventh Seal" (1957) & "Joe Black" (Brad Pitt) from "Meet Joe Black" (1998) , & having a beer.

He's just so much better as a villain

He wouldnt need the large tanks of helium, these would be traceable back to the company where they were filled. He should have used the smaller party disposable tank. These are untraceable.

I don't know if I'd fancy that mask. Personally I'd prefer a strong narcotic introduced into an IV line. But the concept of choosing your own time and place of death is very appealing.
