As for the dielectric grease, just put a dab on a Q-tip and smear it over the surface of the contact, and that will block air and moisture from causing corrosion.
The pressure of the mating contacts is enough to push through it for a good electrical connection
I will clean and try again.

A little tip on that… the screw is very long and for me was pressing onto the wiring loom below. Vibration over time will cause the screw to cut its way into the loom and possibly short something out.
I’ve cut the screw and made it shorter, it no longer touches the loom and also takes less turns to screw it 👌🏻
