I reversed the polarity of my phone screen, and now the hacks are debunking me

How to freeze water in the microwave:
1. Put water in the microwave.
2. Put microwave in the freezer.

“the hack doesn’t work and now i have butter on my shoes”
has gotta be my new favorite out of context line

@mgunslinger17 5 years ago

Ann wastes ingredients to prevent hundreds/thousands of others falling for this crap. I hate food waste, but I hope you debunking these videos means other people will not fall for them and waste a bunch more.

The freezer trick is used by librarians to prevent mold when there are too many items to dry them. You freeze what you can not dry straight away- then defrost and dry properly when you have the time and space. Its an emergency technique only and you still have to deal with drying it!

The butter one is stupidly fake🤣🤣 at this point it looks like they just come up with the most absurd things which no body thought of so that someone might believe it.

"The hack doesn't work, and now I have butter on my shoes" is a perfect metaphor for my life

not all heroes wear capes, some wreck their microwaves and feed their husbands all sorts of abominations instead

idk why, but the quote at 7:40, "the hack doesn't work and now I have butter on my shoes," is hilarious to me.

"We need to make something edible so Dave has something to eat."

Edible is a term used VERY loosely here

Please tell Dave we truly appreciate his suffering on our behalf.

I think the most infuriating thing about these "hacks" is that, like you pointed out, they make (young) people think that reality is not governed by science or logic but by pure magic

Congratulations on your anniversary of 25 years despite your repeated attempts to poison your husband with debunking videos. But all the other great things you cook must make up for it. Seriously, you seem such a sweet couple and your shout-out to him on your channel is so sweet.

Ann talking about how sweet Dave is was seriously sweeter than all the chocolate in those ‘waffles’

I'm still mad at how YouTube handled COPPA
Especially since they've been so horrible to artists and animators. They put genuine talent and effort into their work, but they get zero add revenue if their animation is appropriate for all audiences and doesn't contain 20 swear words, because youtube thinks animation is only for kids
Meanwhile they allow 5 Minute Crafts to get away with having a monetized channel that literally has the word "KIDS" in the title

I like how she doesn’t just prove that they’re fake, she shows how you can actually get a similar result

"The hack doesn't work, and now I have butter in my shoes." thank you for this beautiful quote.

Also CONGRATULATIONS on being married so long and still being in love. Dave is great and he's a huge part of why so many people love this channel <3

If you look into Ann's eyes, you can see she's so sick of those fake hacks.

“The hack doesn’t work, and now I have butter on my shoes...”

I died laughing at that. Appreciate your suffering.

Food Hack AI: “How to make whipped icing with melted ice cream.”
Me: “Just add butter.”
Hack: “Add icing sugar.”
Me: No! Add butter to the ice cream!”
Hack: “Add butter and put it in the freezer.”
Me: You don’t need the freezer if you’re melting the ice cream! Why is it running like this?”
Hack: “Reverse the polarity of your microwave and add butter to your running shoes.”
