Tata Aeris CNG AMT first drive review, performance, comfort, features and prices explained. In this video, V3Cars drives the 2026 Tata Aeris CNG Automatic to find out whether the CNG-AMT combination makes it a better city car than the petrol version.
The Tata Aeris gets a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated bi-fuel engine that can run on both petrol and CNG. It is available with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT. In CNG mode, the engine produces 75.5PS of maximum power and 96.5Nm of peak torque, while the petrol mode produces 86PS and 113Nm.
In this first drive review, we share our impressions of the Aeris CNG AMT’s power delivery, AMT response, refinement, NVH levels, suspension comfort and overall city driving experience. Interestingly, we found the CNG mode more pleasant to drive in traffic than the petrol mode because its softer, more tapered power delivery makes the powertrain feel less jerky and more refined.
We also take a closer look at the Aeris’ cabin quality, dashboard materials, touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, ventilated driver seat, rear-seat comfort and practicality. The CNG version’s boot is compartmentalised and offers usable space for small luggage despite the twin-cylinder CNG setup.
The 2026 Tata Aeris CNG AMT is available in the Pure, Pure Plus, Creative and Accomplished variants. The AMT costs Rs 55,000 more than the equivalent CNG manual variant, with CNG-AMT prices ranging from Rs 7.70 lakh to Rs 9.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

If I buy Cng variant with 16Nm less torque does that mean even if I click that CNG button and turn it off then also it will have same torque or will it become 113Nm like normal petrol
All 3 are coming for 9.3 lacs.
I know segment is different but want to buy something which value for money. Experts pls help.
