Every monsoon, the story is almost the same.

A road is built. It looks perfectly fine for a while. Then the cracks appear. A few months later, there are potholes. The road is repaired, dug up, patched again ....yet somehow, we’re back where we started.

But why does this keep happening?

Is it just the rain? Is it the traffic? Is it poor construction? Or is there something deeper going wrong with the way we build and maintain our roads?

This is what we try to answer in this video.

The road construction data should be made public - who won the tenders, the cost, what is the material used, the authority who gave the contract (so that we can evaluate when they come for votes) and hold them accountable.

Nitin Gadkari is the prime example of solving problems on surface level
He focused on creating roads but neither on the quality nor on the maintainence of those roads similarly he focused on solving petrol problem but never thought of the possible consequences

Roads are a scam in india, like most other things. People either want to escape india by moving abroad or by moving into enclaves (gated societies). The purpose of popular apps (amazon, swiggy, uber) is to let people avoid having to deal with the realities of india.

JM Road proves to the entire country, how roads can be like if not under the enslavement of India. They were real heroes of this nation. Our Government killed them by never calling on them again.

In assam, hojai district, there is a place called Lanka, here a small 2line railway flyover took around 8-10 years to construct.
Few months back some politician came for inauguration but few days later the bridge went back to repair.
500m near that bridge there is also a similar type of bridge over railway inaugurated few years back and now is in critical condition to ride.

It's a bitter reality check that a country capable of sending missions to the moon struggles to build roads that can survive a single monsoon. Mohak beautifully broke down the root cause here—the flawed L1 tender system and the absolute lack of coordination between departments (the classic 'digging up a newly laid road' scenario). Until contractors are heavily penalized, blacklisted, and forced to rebuild from their own pockets, they will continue to profit off poor infrastructure and repeat repair tenders. Taxpayers deserve better than pothole-ridden 'millennium cities'. Brilliant research and a much-needed exposure of this systemic rot. Let's hope the authorities are actually listening!

Hi... Mohak I want you to explain how the increasing height of local roads causes houses to become lower than the road level. This happens in almost every part of India, and as a result, rainwater often enters and floods the houses.
