Such a joy to watch Colin and Joe work. I tend to agree with Colin in allowing big landscapes to breath when they need to by including more sky particularly when the sky adds to the atmosphere and feeling of the place. Still I love what Joe does.

I love Colin's images, I've had his calendars on my wall for years, but Joe I think identified why I llike them, it's the use of space, not just the subject itself. I've tried doing what Colin does, the vistas and mountains, but I can't get near it, there is something I'm just not seeing. Yet what Joe does I can understand, the foreground, the subject, the layering, that I can get my head around, even if my own images are no where near as good. I would say Joe's images are so good they inspire me, while Colin's images are so good they frustrate me! There is definitely a difference in style and approach. I still credit Colin with teaching me how to work a landscape, on one of his workshops (20 years ago). I think I still have work to do in understanding space. Thanks guys for the master class, two of the absolute best in the craft.

I love watching Joe articulate his vision of the landscape. I’m guessing this is a product of his film background. He is immersed in the landscape, sees and feels the patterns and brings them into view. I am in awe of not just his photography skill but his grounded artistic interpretation of what most pass off as chaos. Interestingly, his work stands out despite not chasing the algorithm. A true master of craft IMHO.

What a joy it is to spend a bit of time in the company of not one, but two world-class landscape photographers practicing their craft. Coincidentally, I was up on Stac Pollaidh and Sgurr an Fhidhleir this May with good friend of Joe's, fellow photographer Alex Nail. Bad weather and gorgeous light!

I had always seen Colin's calendars in Tiso the outdoor shop, have bought a few of them over the years. These Calendars and love of walking got me into photography as they captured my imagination. Never actually knew what he looked like till now. Sadly my days of hiking appear to behind me, but still plenty days of photography ahead. Had seen Joe here and there and will have a wee gander now. Loved the production...

It's interesting that this is two of the best landscape photographer and only few see this film. Remember seeing both at WildPhoto in London and got blown away and it really set me out on a journey in photography.
