One of the many reasons why I love the bts material is that we get so much more of the dwarves, their backstory and the actors' antics.

can't believe they scraped all these amazing character moments for more Alfrid.

I still wish we had gotten a visual hint about the infamous “Firefly scene”.  Literally every Bagginshield fan would pay good money to see that (myself included)

Also, I think the bit at 21:05 is part of the cut scene where Thorin tells Bilbo he can take his fourteenth share, but not a single coin is leaving the mountain (another scene I wish we had gotten to see)

8:42 They holding hands is so cute, that's all I needed

Ok, the fact that the scene at 11:09 is not in the final cut is literally criminal. Scene like this one is very reminiscent of similar ones in The Lord of the Rings.  Gandalf's speech about the time given to us, Sam's speech in Osgiliath and Gandalf's speech about one's Journey. This is like a trademark feature, that immediately tells you this is a Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth movie.
And it it's pretty much 95% complete. I really hope this gets added in some other future re-release of the movie.

I'm still pissed af that the acorn scene didn't make it. Seriously I can forgive many things. That's not one of them.

I cannot wait for the 4K releases in 2021 with the extra footage. Does anyone know if the hobbit films are getting touched on/added footage? I know the LOTR films are getting touched up by Jackson

I wish this entire scene starting at 11:09 was in the movie! Such a good scene. I hope it's somehow added to the edition releasing in 2021.

Me: DID HE JUST SAY YEET?!?

OMG so many of these were soo good. Balin and Dwalin walking up to Thranduil along with Thorin and him talking of using elven roads is like straight out of the book, that is marvellous. can we have an extended extended edition please?

Why did they cut Thranduil and Legolas' bit at the end?

Peter Jackson himself looks stout dwarvish

So many goodies from you! I never watched much of Hobbit behind the scenes and interviews, unlike LotR when I watched everything there was. I suppose I never forgave Hobbit for not living up to the promise of being a worthy LotR prequel, which seemed fairly possible after Unexpected Journey (I love that movie dearly, with all its flaws). So, it's a good opportunity for me to watch these extra materials now :)

1:43 Alan Lee and Jon Howe

where can i watch the whole thing? i love watching this footage of behind the scenes. is in the dvds or something?

Please, can you bring more about scrapper/deleted materials of the hobbit trilogy?

Did they ever film the scene where Gandalf and Bilbo return to the troll hoard?

Firefly scene???? Someone help a guy out!!

Awesome vid

omg they did all that with dale, those shots and they didn't make it in. perhaps it would have been too horrifying for the audience? But I don't remember seeing that much in the extended edition either I think a lot of the Dale Stuff didn't make it in.
