Probably the easiest to follow recap out there. Highly recommend this to newcomers.

11 years later and this is still by far the best recap video of them all for the game. Seriously great work. Like others say, the lack of "random lol funny" jokes, and actually respecting the game as an interactable literary art form is what sold it to me. As someone who repeatedly tried and failed to enjoy the game, this was perfect at what it needed to do for players like me.

3:57 cutscene: shows geralt leap from great height and is totally fine

Meanwhile in the game: falling down more than 3 feet = instant death

good explanation, no unnecessary jokes and lame references. Straightforward and enlightening. Good job.

Late to the Witcher series, as I just started playing Witcher 3 on PS4. I went looking for some summary videos to catch me up on the series and, after watching several others and coming away completely confused, I stumbled across yours. Fantastic job! An in depth, yet clear and concise summary of events in game 1 and the major characters at play. Heading to watch the second video now. Thanks for the efforts!

I'm Italian, and I might have watched about twenty videos from various countries to try and fully understand the story of the first two The Witcher games. This one is by far the best: no stupid jokes, very clear, provides context, and gets straight to the point. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

0:19 correction: watching to get ready for the release of Witcher 3 Remastered this September 29, 2026.

Toss a coin to your Witcher .

Actually, Geralt doesn't remember anything about his life, not just the five years since he can't remember anything that happened in the books, not even Ciri and Yennefer. All he remembers is his Witcher knowledge and training.

5:28 lol those physics

Surprised none of the upvoted comments mention that you missed probably one of the most important subplots in the entire series.  The Alvin and Jacques de Aldersberg twisty time travel  story and prophecy.

Damn. Your story so far videos on the witcher is WAY WAY WAY better than the others available on Youtube. Good job!

Still great 5 years later, appreciate this video and the next one!

Finally the only video on YouTube that doesn't confuse you. Brilliant job.

Started Witcher 3 recently, watched a few videos but nothing as helpful and clear as this one.

These videos are so invaluable to those who have never gotten to play the first two Witcher games and want a deeper understanding of the vast character relationships and storylines/ongoing plot that feeds into the 3rd game.  Every time I gear up to start The Witcher 3 again I come back to these videos to freshen up my knowledge.  They continue to prove invaluable, enlightening and enjoyable to experience.  Would be lost without them, and they help me to appreciate and enjoy 3 and its story all the more.

the only summary on youtube that makes any sense, good work!

One of the best story sum-up and explanation that I have seen so far.

FINALLY someone made a very good summary, every time I saw a 5 minute summary that didn't touch important topics but yours is waaaaaaaay better, thanks!

Damn, this video aged so well. It helped me a lot. Thank you so much!
