The thing I like about these videos is they aren't just a list of things to find. Like go find this, or that. They're presented in a way that we can build that muscle ourselves and you're just providing the personal training to get us to that goal.
I love playing board games with my granddaughter. We started playing simple games like Candyland when she was younger, but now he's 13 and we still enjoying playing games. She's very smart and competitive. I don't "let her win" anymore...she beats me fair and square. 😅 But, I love spending time with her. Its only a matter of time until she becomes a teenager and wont want to spend as much time with her grandma, so I'm taking advantage of it now. 😉
I just came from a rummage sale and picked up two games. I never would have looked twice at them before your vid. While I was there I sold a coffee mug on eBay for 20 bucks that I listed this morning. Again, I wouldn't have looked for a mug before. These vids are great. I'm still checking out CD's.
In my 20s one of my first sales jobs was selling pool tables and cocktail table games (flat top PacMan, etc.) We also sold higher end games including the original D&D, Avalon Hill (originally 3M) bookshelf games, war games and we were one of the first stores to have Trivial Pursuit in the US. Still love games and would love to find/sell more.
Driving up from CA to Oregon to visit my parents without fail would end up with late night Scattergories. Three generations around the table. Lots of loud talking, drinks, snacks and questionable answers. A silly boardgame led to some of our favorite family memories.
I love these videos. The idea of a few tips to look for in categories most people skip, hits the treasure hunt vibe I’m after. These make the hunt so much more fun and interesting.
Playing board games with kids is a joyful, frustrating, rule-less chaos. It requires patience and forgiveness, and it's personal. Embrace it! Best to introduce the games gradually to them, and accept the outcomes as a family experience. I agree re incomplete games, but you still need to know the underlying appeal of and demand for that game. Also: in many if not most cases you can research a game's content/inventory -- as long as it is a game in demand.
Yeap, we play board games (Gloomhaven, hero quest) on Saturday nights when the kids go to bed.. better than going to a party.. get to drink at home with your mates have fun playing a board game.. my kids tell me they hate it when we make noise playing until 5am in the morning.. at least we are not playing loud music lolz but I am not so much into it.. I like the social aspect and larping then the actual game.. Awesome job guys ❤
I've shipped board games by bubble wrapping them with the small bubbles, then the big bubbles, then in a large polybag. I head Pro Picker mention that's how they ship board games in one of his videos so I tried it and haven't had any complaints from buyers. Of course, if it's a more expensive board game, I'll ship it in a box.
These are soooo incredibly helpful compared to other videos that just tell you what to buy. You are giving me the tools to recognize what items are valuable. Thank you
I love flipping board games and have had good luck for the last 15 years. It's a great way to play/try board games first and then sell later. My first big flip back in college was a Mormon version of settlers of Catan that I paid a dollar for at a thrift store and sold for over 100$. It was crammed in the toy section under a mountain of neglected action figures and baby dolls. I don't mind counting the pieces of board games but that can get really tedious and why a lot of full time resellers I see at my local store skip this category unless sealed, even if you could part it out. It's just time intensive.
Board Games is the first of your Hiding in Plain Sight videos I've watched and I learned so much. Will definitely go back and watch the CD and Mug ones and look forward to your next topics too.The info other watchers write in your comments are also very helpful!
Mr. Mouth! I remember playing that game as a kid and I had forgotten all about it till you showed it in this video. If it's the same game, Mr. Mouth spins slowly and his mouth opens and closes and everyone has to catapult their colored chips into his mouth. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister so it was the perfect game for us and my parents didn't have to play. Gonna have to take a stroll down the game aisle next time I go thrifting. I had no idea some of these games could be worth so much. Thank you!
These videos are amazing. It reminds me of being young and getting a Nintendo power with cheat codes. It really does feel like it sort of unlocks the niche or category thanks much
Alright I watched the other video and you covered my favorite topic. Made a bunch of money in this category. I have all the 3M Bookshelves games took years to collect. As far as the Hobby games you have Euro version which to me are complex to play but even more Niche. As far as board games go Dice Tower is the main YouTube Channel. I love playing them but not the ultra complex version of these games.
