If 1939 wasn't number one I was gonna riot, but in the end I didn't have to do that.

The 2007 lineup is incredible. No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood are some of the most beloved films of the 21st century, and for good reason, Juno is so heartwarming and funny, Michael Clayton is a very underrated thriller, and Atonement is a pretty solid historical drama.

Beauty and the Beast getting into Best Picture in a time when the lineup maximum is 5  movies and animation is still not honored with a separate category was monumental. It's also my favorite animated film of all time.

2006 over 1975 is wild

I love this channel. It’s an incredible content, these tops are amazing. I watched all of your videos!

Glad to see 1991 in there. People say it must have been a weak year because they nominated a cartoon and a January thriller but we still remember these films

1939 is hands down the best
Any of the nominated films could have won Best Picture if they had  been released in 1938

For me, the easy top 2 Best Picture line ups are:
1. 1975 - Cuckoo's Nest, Barry Lyndon, Dog Day Afternoon, Jaws, Nashville (you said it all, I'm shocked it wasn't higher)
2. 1962 - Lawrence of Arabia, To Kill a Mockingbird, Longest Day, Music Man, Mutiny on the Bounty (ALL of them are at least great, I'm stunned it wasn't at least mentioned)

Surprised that 1994 didn’t even get an honorable mention with films like Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump and the Shashank Redemption

Man I gotta say I LOVE your channel and your content is the stuff movie buffs like me love as well as all the debates in the comments.❤

1994 and 1995 are my two favourite years for the Oscars.  Back then I still believed that the Academy Awards were in fact giving out the trophies to the very best.

2014 not getting a mention is wild.

1975 should be much higher

for some reason my favorite line-ups always end in 7
1997: Titanic, As Good as It Gets, The Full Monty, Good Will Hunting, L.A. Confidential
2007 No Country for Old Men, Atonement, Juno, Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood
2017: Call Me by Your Name, Darkest Hour, Dunkirk, Get Out, Lady Bird, Phantom Thread, The Post, The Shape of Water , Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Keep ‘em coming…love these kind of videos. Thanks Brian!

We should do this for best actor, best actress also.

I think 2020 gotta be on the list
Parasite
Once upon a time in Hollywood
1917
Marriage Story
Ford v Ferrari
The Irishman
Jojo Rabbit
Joker
Little women.
Better than many in this list.

Your channel has inspired me to start a channel . These are topics I love and never thought people would watch . Thanks for letting us nerd out with you

I'm honestly really glad a movie like Juno was nominated. It's not the kind of movies that gets through the oscars

The Joy Luck Club…so underrated…thanks for the shout out! Zero Oscar nominations…paved the way for films like Parasite.
