i played animal jam since 2014 and i strongly recall the phrase 'eagles soar and lions roar, nonmembers deserve more!'. the fight for class equality was never won
my favorite thing to do in aj was putting on 'fashion shows', hosting one in your den and inviting other folks to come over, you picked a theme and they dressed the best they could, each round someone would be eliminated until there was a winner. i could not count the hours of how much time was spent hosting and participating in those. nowadays i think people play it in roblox and call it 'dress to impress', which could never compare to the magic of aj fashion shows
i think it's crazy how the most lasting thing that seems to have stuck around from aj is the nonmember emojis. i see them all the time especially on places like pinterest, and it makes me wonder if those folks even knew where they came from. it's nice to see a small part of that still existing in the wild!
The Animal Jam community is insane, I totally forgot there was actual education aspects because I was always so focused on trading when playing. I stopped playing after the 2020 breach and haven't looked back since. As well as that on discord I watched many of my friends get doxed and harassed and people trying to recruit me to go through stolen accounts for items.
11:21 i actually grew up thinking that the "burgundy" colour that we all called magenta was magenta, and to this day, people correct me on it. they dont know peak
seeing a bepper mv just unlocked so many memories for me 💀. I did actually meet them once or twice while playing online and they would just get mobbed anytime they got online. ALSO this reminded me of how AJ wouldn't let you type any numbers or the word love into the chat, even when you got free chat. Like they really had us saying "i loaf u" and to/too and number variations to get around the chat restrictions.
