The funniest part about the Simpsons Corona prediction is that in the same episode they accidentally release a bunch of killer bees, which could be used as further "evidence" for the prediction theory ( remember the murder hornets in 2020?) but everyone peddling the theory have never actually watched the episode
5:52 It does happen in a 2012 episode where the Simpsons are kicked out of town and end up in a place called the Outlands. When their friends see how much they're enjoying it there compared to Springfield, the townsfolk start relocating their homes and workplaces there and by the end of the episode it's just Springfield with a different layout. So there's definitely evidence beyond the 1997 episode that it keeps happening.
Wasn't the "Homer has a job because of abe" theory confurmed but not because of the flying hellfish but because Mr Burns murdered Abe's friend and they made the deal to cover it up. Season 36 episode 4 Shoddy Heat.
14:47 I'm surprised no one made a theory that barney is nelson's real father tbh. like. before i knew nelson had a canon father i thought the implication was that he is his father
19:53 interesting thing about the ADHD theory is that ADHD typically presents differently in girls than it does boys. Girls have problems socializing and have good grades but are often quite anxious, and in adult hood they tend to go through major life changes when they move away from the structured environment of grade school and living with their parent, but can go on to be achievers in niche subjects. Lisa likely has ADHD too, but because she is a girl, her and the rest of the female Simpsons (especially in 90s and earlier) would be undiagnosed because up until around 2010, female ADHD presentation wasn't accounted for.
The Abe Simpson time traveler theory is just essentially fans completely misunderstanding an absurdist joke. Like yeah, it doesn't really make sense for a dad's advice on their son's wedding day to be about what to if he ever travels though time, that's why it's framed that way. Because it's funnier than if Homer just recalled it from a sci-fi movie or something.
My Simpsposting Theory: "Each Season is it's own Canon"
Each season takes place in it's own timeline/universe/alternate history. Some elements just "crossover" or are established "Canons" within that timeline/universe .
Modern Simpsons (pick any) from Episode 1 of that Season is the "First" of that Universe; meaning certain historical events, technology adavnces isn't the writers keeping up with the times.
It's means... Lisa who was too young to remember George H. W. Bush really DID happen vs Older Seasons (pick any) She's old enough to know who he is.
9:03 another point on this, nuclear power plants are actually much more economically friendly than most other power sources. It’s really interesting to learn about actually
I just find the Mr. Burns shooting himself theory funny because almost killing barts dog, making the bar a hazard, destroying half of the retirement castle, and forgetting your coworkers name is fine but taking candy from a baby, no no no no THATS, way too far!
23:30 Honestly, it's less Truman Show and more Dark City, a movie about a giant city where it's always night inhabited by people who were abducted by a dying race of hive mind aliens, simply called The Strangers, who believed that humanity's individuality could save them from extinction, with them forcing one human, played by Kiefer Sutherland, who knows what's happening to help them alter the memories of everyone in the city as part of their research. The movie also has the Strangers use a power called Tuning to move buildings around at will, just like how Springfield is constantly changing.
20:55 I remember seeing this for the first time and my thought was: "Glad to see Jimbo changed his mind." It's as if cutting the head off the statue has become so mainstream that it happens once a week now in Springfield. Bart was just the first person to normalize it.
25:15 i think maude's characterisation is more meant to represent the hypocrisy of many modern christians... maybe im wrong but thats just always how i interpreted her personality in the show. especially cus theres that one ep where she says "i was at bible camp learning to be more judgemental" which in itself is a joke about christian hypocrisy
Homer might wanna bring down the power plant, but not because of any environmental reason. I don't think Homer cares about that stuff, at all. He might just hate it there.
I like how in Lisa the Greek, Lisa says Washington will win the Super Bowl and shortly after, Washington won the Super Bowl in real life. This episode would be replayed before future Super Bowls with the team names changed and Lisa was always right.
Just pure luck though. No Frink time traveling shenanigans.
