The Denza B5 and Denza B8 are finally launching in the UAE — and today we take them through a full real-world test drive at XQuarry.
In collaboration with Daantalks and T-Break, we explored the complete off-road capabilities, suspension setups, drive modes, ground clearance, articulation tests, and the technology that BYD/Denza are bringing to the Gulf.

We started at the brand-new BYD showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, then headed to XQuarry to push both SUVs through steep inclines, descents, sand mode, rock mode, 360-camera manoeuvres, articulation ramps, approach and departure angle tests, and even a wading section. With adjustable suspension (air/hydraulic depending on trim), a transfer case with 4L, diff locks (rear or front+rear on higher B5 trims), and strong instant torque from the electric motors, both cars surprised us.

We also compare the UAE versions to the Chinese variants — including the additional front cooling fans that the UAE model gets, the different Denza logo vs the Leopard logo, and the similarities to the Fang Cheng Bao models many have seen imported through the grey market.
