This is my new dream car. I used to own a WRX and this 4WD is even faster, with front and rear lockers its more capable than a Prado but with better interior and stereo system, comes with a factory 12V power system, I can charge it free using solar panels so potentially never have to buy fuel, and even power my house at night using V2L. I would probably opt for the B5 rather than Leopard because I prefer more load capacity and option to lift the spring suspension using after market springs and lift kit rather than the hydrolic system in the Leopard. I think some muddies or decent AT tyres would look sic on this.

I had my heart set on a tank 500 PHEV but will definitely wait to test drive these beasts.

In Qatar, we have a love for SUVs, and I've tried most German, American, Japanese, and Chinese models. However, the GWM Tank 500 V6, the Haval H9 V4, and the BYD Leopard 5 or Denza B5 have become very popular here and are now competing with the Japanese cars that are so widespread. I own a Tank 500, but I prefer the Haval H9 because of its smooth driving experience, power, price, family-friendly size (seven seats), desert capabilities, and the fact that it's a battery-less engine. I also prefer it to the hybrid engine with batteries, like the BYD Leopard 5 or Denza B5.

Really interesting review thank you. I’m seriously thinking of getting one of these next year. So the input is useful. This is the first time I have seen the 6KW V2L figure quoted. So just on the battery this thing will output 6KW for 5 hours without the ICE running. With a full tank of gas and full battery this could car could provide silent emergency power for a week - amazing!. As an interesting comparison let’s say you suffer a major power outage, and have a fully charged EV with an 82KWh battery. The EV will only provide 13hours of V2L power at 6KW then no power and flat EV battery.
