I see that I'm not the only one in their eighties that can't see or feel very well. I use the Davy and this method of tying it is the best and easiest I have seen. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the easiest way to tie a Davy knot that I have seen.  I love this knot as I've never seen it slip, unlike the clinch knot.

What works for me, regardless of where I use it, is a red Gamakatsu with a peacock earl head!
I am 82 years old, still going fishing around the country, and tying flies. I still enjoy transforming waterfloggers into fly fishers

Amazing! This way is much easier. I love the Davy knot even though you MUST tie a double davy if your hook eye is bigger. But I notice you can just do the second step twist a second time and theres your double davy! Another benefit to this is you can have a long working end but then a tiny tag end when you're done. Ive been using the improved Davy knot for steelhead and have done great using 6 to 8 pound floro.
