This is the perfect video for new fly fisher education! Our fishing season opens here in less then 2 weeks here in PEI, Canada. I am going to be fly fish for the first time ever. Thank you for all the knot education sir, have a great season!

In Boy Scouts granny. Knots were improper square knots.

Another great video Simon 🎣👍🎣👍

Thank you very much for the video ! I've been wanting to start fly fishing for about a month now and i couldn't find the video i was searching for. Your's is perfect for beginners with the use of colours and bigger ropes for the knots. Keep up the good work ! Greetings from Belgium

You make a great mentor Simon. Well done

That was a fantastic episode. Thank you very much.

Best video on this

Learned a couple tricks. Simon rocks!

Brilliant, I've learnt more in this video about tying  knots than any other video I've watched.  Cheers

Wonderful tip with using a tippet ring.

Great tuition

great best ive seen your so clear, watching you as much as i can,

Nice video but some of these setup won't work for saltwater species, starting by cutting the welded loop. This is a great freshwater (trout) setup.

Thaks for great video, very handy and simple. Would you say that perfection loop is weaker for connecting leader, or is it just preference?

4:01 😂

Why not tie a double uni to attach the leader? Would be better than those loops and stuff

Learn a Figure 8 - and be done with all those knots..its stronger in stress tests. Stop complicating fly fishing if below 0.20/5 lbs do a double 8...Enough with this elitist gatekeeping.

MN 28 BEND OF FLY HOOK IS IN YOUR ROCH CLIPS .........S THEN?

Why do they call it a granny knot?
Called the "granny's knot" with references going back to at least 1849, the knot was so-called because it is "the natural knot tied by women or landsmen".
