the post credit is related to an international scavenger hunt called the cipher hunt, i really recommend looking into it for a little extra content

oh, the post credits thing was soooooo good.

After the show ended, it was revealed that Bill's body was still out there somewhere, hand outstretched, waiting to make a make a deal. It kicked off the Cypher hunt, a global wide mystery where fans had to work together and share the clues. (I do mean world wide. one of the hints was hidden in a museum in Russia.)
FINALLY they found it.
Out in the middle of the woods. Had a treasure chest under it that played the gravityfaalls theme, musicbox-style when it was opened. A recreation of Journal 3, but unlike the retail version it had all the blacklight stuff in it. A blacklight to read it, and a message from Alex Hirsch.

but it gets crazier!
A few days later the police came in and said the statue was too close to private property and hauled it away and it mysteriously went missing for a long while with nobody knowing what happened to it.
(I think I've heard it did eventually make it back to Alex)

There's one more thing to share. When Bill was getting erased, he spouts something with reversed audio.
"A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time has come to burn. I invoke the ancient power so I may return."

There's a cosmic, extra dimensional being called the Axolotl that shows up in a Gravity Falls book that the twins meet.
Dipper asks it what it knows about Bill Cypher and it gives him a response.

"Sixty degrees that come in threes.
Watches from within birch trees.
Saw his own dimension burn.
Misses home and can't return.
Says he's happy. He's a liar.
Blame the arson for the fire.
If he wants to shirk the blame,
He'll have to invoke my name.
One way to absolve his crime.
A different form, a different time."

From one Stan stan to another, Ford was told by a real fortune teller that he has "the face of a hero", which inflated his ego even more and made him think he was destined to save the world.  He forgot about the other man with his face.

17:09 they both were at fault here, Ford couldn't give his brother a pass and Stan acted on impulse again, same way he did at school and when he pushed Ford into the portal. I guess the point in their relationship was to be more mindful about each other's wishes and traumas

It's not really explained in the show, but other media reveals that the damage to Stan's mind IS permanent.

This specific summer is the ONLY thing he remembers, and ONLY because Mabel scrapbooked everything.

He only really remembers anything before Dipper and Mabel arrived because he talked about them at one point or another, so other people could help him recall.

Even after all these years, Gravity Falls holds a lifelong place in the heart; revisiting it remains engaging, and the ending is incredibly sweet and touching—leaving one hoping for a continuation of the series.

Also ford did understand the sacrifice (journal 3) it said it was the only time mabel and dipper saw him cry and that he was working the hardest at sparking back stan's memories. It also has ford calling stan the most selfless man he met across any dimension

Ah, what a finale!

I'm kinda mixed on the whole Stan regaining his memories thing. Having him permanently lose his memory might have been a little too depressing even if it was more realistic but him getting them back as fast as it did felt a little rushed. I think the sweet spot would be if it took him several months at least to get all his memories back.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed this show, looking forward to seeing more reactions from you after your hiatus.
