Do a Casey Neistat, pick a race, go again in a month or so, tell no one, get someone to pace you, and only upload after you've done it. Feel like the pressure of you recording while you're racing is an additional stressor for that high heart rate. Let the race be just for you

3-01 finishing with a smile on your face after thinking about quitting half way through is awesome! 😎

You need to throw that heart monitor in the bin. It ruled your marathon and wrecked you chances of your best marathon. You know this course well, now. Ditch the HR monitoring and follow a pace plan, next time!!

I feel like I wouldn’t worry about wrist heart rate data too much, yet still being able to talk. Well done for finishing!

I had the same high HR issues when I raced Berlin last year for a BQ. It's so frustrating knowing after the first 5K that your goal is not going to happen today and you have to tough it out for 37K for 2nd prize. I fully understand that anxiety and pressure caused by chasing a big goal - all the hours and sacrifices of training culminating in one day where so much has to align perfectly to pull it off. It's a lot to deal with. Congrats for taking the decision not to DNF and to finish with a smile. You'll get that sub-3, no question.

Congrats!! Glad you finished it instead of DNFing, I'm sure that having a positive finish experience will have a good effect on your next try. Maybe try disabling hearth rate on your watch, it sounds like seeing a high HR at the first part made you stress out quite a bit, maybe causing it to stay high. One of the best marathons I had was when my watch died half way and I ran the second part faster and enjoyed it more.

Brilliant at the end - super funny 😂😂😂

Amazing video as always mate. Keep up the content and keep inspiring.

Well done Will still a great time. You'll get it one day soon. Saw you and Brett at the finish but you looked deep in conversation.

Great to see you Will at finish line! Was shocked to catch up with you during race as I was banking on you going under 3. You can do it! BTW, get a chest HRM 👍🏼

So good to see you finish with a smile on your face - love that. Another brilliant run, particularly in the circumstances 👏🏼👏🏼

Soo close! Great effort tho mate, you’ll get it next time 💪

Great to meet you on Sunday and good to see you finish with a smile on your face. At the end of the day you put the training in, got faster and PB'd in the half on the way, that will carry forward into all your future races.

Well done Will. I believe it takes a greater determination to finish when things aren’t going to plan. I did exactly the same after picking up a niggle two weeks out, I ran as far as I could and then enjoyed the end without giving up and making my friends and family proud.
It’s great to see that you didn’t chuck the towel in and that will inspire.

Also, thanks for taking the time to chat with me in the bag drop 😁

Onto the next 💪🏻

Congrats will! You still had an amazing time ❤

Great run and very positive attitude. Every confidence that you’ll break 3:00, just a matter of time. Great to see the camaraderie within the group towards the end of the video. I think he’ll be back for his sub 4:00….

Quality running there,  Extremely enjoyed that video 🔥🔥

The fact the you can run a whole marathon with such a high HR is admirable on itself.

Inspirational finish!  Well done 🙌 Congratulations!

Mate, watching that had me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Laughing my head off at "Can he just go in the boot?" straight into welling up at the end. Such a great video man. You finished which is the most important thing and you finished strong and with a smile which makes it even more amazing. So good to see you at the finish. As I've said before, I don't know anyone who deserves a sub 3 more than you. It will come and I can't wait to watch you do it.
