Ratchet is such a good friend that--even though he can fly by himself--he doesn't show Clank, so Clank can feel like he's helping 😭

The levitator working through sheer willpower was amazing

Would be funny if Clank wasn't in the cutscenes at all but all the characters acted like he was
"Clank, what do we do?"
harrowing silence due to severe lack of Clank
"Right, right..."

The ending where you finish the mission to get Clank without actually getting Clank was glorious.

Clank: "He'll come back. Eventually. "
Ratchet: "Who's that robot? Don't know him."

Turns out the levitator was just a placebo. The will to fly was inside Ratchet all along.

"Can you beat Ratchet 2?"

Ratchet: I don't need friends! I have decoys!

Ratchet: Speaking as a decoy Oh Ratchet, you're so cool and awesome! I bet you could even fly if you wanted to!

Ratchet: Thanks, inflatable me! You're the best friend ever!

Clank: Watching from a distance What a sad, lonely little Lombax.

Okay, I admit that the Levitator caught me completely off guard. I was not expecting it to work.

Ratchet gracefully willing himself through the air is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my entire life. My jaw literally fell and stayed that way for the entire duration of that clip. No words could describe my purely indescribable amount of awe I felt in that moment. Excelsior.

the alternate reality where Ratchet never forgave Clank for trusting Quark that one time

The Clank lookalike is known as Clonk. He's a good boi. And, very specifically, not Clank.

Kudos on another success and I'd say this counts as Without Clank, since you never met him. That was just Clonk, after all

I can't believe Ratchet develops the ability to levitate on his own by sheer force of will

Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando? Nah, Ratchet and Blank: Going Solo

"Ratchet, oh thank goodness you're here! You need to get me out so we can learn who's behind thi-"

"Oh, already did all that. Turns out the thief was this cute lombax girl named Angela, and she was actually stealing the experiment because it was dangerous and Fizzwidget was planning to sell it as a pet. Also, Fizzwidget was Quark in disguise, but I took him down!"

"...wait, you did all that without-"

"Anyway, you look comfy there, so I'll just leave you to it, I just wanted to swing by and say hello. Buh-bye!" noclips out of the room

It turns out that the Blargian instructions were just an incantation for a Levitation spell

So I remember seeing an alternative way to sort of prevent reuniting on Aranos: If after they reunite you fly back to Endako, the game remembers that you haven't rescued Clank yet, so he goes back to being kidnapped. You won't have USED clank in any ratchet segments, but he will have been on your back, so it really depends on the judgement of the individual.

The alternate timeline where Ratchet made good on his promise to sell Clank for scrap.

Remember folks, if you want to get the attention of your crush but can't reach her...
A sideflip hyper strike is just enough to reach her.
