The last dialogue of Neninthe:

No matter if the cinema flops or become a blockbuster, we should keep making cinema. Because Cinema is what we know, Cinema is what runs in our blood, Cinema is what life is for us."

Best dialogue in recent times.

Brahmi's character name in the film Neninthe is Idly Viswanath, a pun on Puri Jagannadh's own name.😅😅

It's shocking that Puri Jagannadh and Ravi Teja have done a movie like 'Neninthe', that too in 2008 😳.

Someone said the kind of movies that can get hailed as blockbusters in a country determines the collective IQ of the audience and I agree a 100%

Ananya Pandey was recently awarded Youth Icon of the year by NDTV 😅😅

The real talent went into hiding after this 😢😢

The fact that Hrithik Roshan in real life cannot play complex characters due to expectations like his character in luck by chance today is crazy...also Puri ended up becoming like Brahmis character unfortunately...

The film Neninthe is gem of its time and holds still relevent today
I still remember ravi teja explaining how relationship works to the heroine it is literally why most relationships fail today
and themes in that movie are so good and true

Idolatry is a deadly sin. Something Indian Cinemagoers and cricket fans have in spades

Something so different happened here in Nepal this past month. A family drama movie called PURNA BAHADUR KO SARANGI released during dussehra (competing with the likes of Singham and BB3). The movie didn't have any big stars. None of us even thought that a movie would make any buzz. But guess what, it ended up being the highest grosser of all time, collecting about 25cr inr which is unheard of. I am so happy that good acting and stories are getting appreciated here. We don't really have a star culture and i hope that we remain like that. Do check the trailer once, and you will be amazed that that movie is the highest grossing nepali movie ever

Its because the movies gets removed from the theater within 3 days or week

Double iSmart really exposed the fact that the director can’t change and bring something new to Telugu cinema. Also this is one of your best vids I’ve seen! Really well done 👏

Jammy, if you're reading this, let me say it outright. Cinema as we knew, it has undergone a radical transformation. Directors and scriptwriters, the true storytellers are increasingly sidelined, their creative freedom overshadowed by a new breed of decision-makers "BUSINESS SCHOOL GRADUATES". These industry gatekeepers now dissect films through the sterile lens of trends, target demographics, and profitability metrics. It’s all about algorithms, audience analysis, and the relentless chase for box office numbers.

And you know what's most HEARTBREAKING?

We’re losing the soul of storytelling in the process. And here’s my bold prediction: within the next 5 years, we might see actors licensing their AI-generated faces and voices, effectively turning them into brandable assets rather than artists. What once was a celebration of human creativity could easily devolve into a glorified tech demo, marketed as “cinema.” The future isn’t just knocking, it’s barging in, and it’s hard not to wonder if we’re applauding our own artistic demise.

There is movie called "katha-screenplay-darshakatvam appalraju " directed by RGV with same theme

he did the classic intro with the "neninthe " jammy knows telugu cinephiles pulse 🤣

The public is largely to blame. We want thrills and over the top scenes in movies. We buy into the larger-than-life image of the actor and want that image to be married to the character they’re playing on screen. Any time an actor experiments outside of their comfort zone, the movie bombs completely. Movies are less works of art these days and more montages of hype scenes of “the hero”.

While listening about the south movie I constantly had Luck by Chance in my head which I saw in an almost empty theatre and always wondered why it flopped!!! Thanx for covering it👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

These are movies watched by me. There are many more.

Unrelated to today's topic, This may be a unpopular opinion, but i think srk 's all 3 movies released in last year were trash. Jawan did have some good mass elements but all 3 were below average. It's just his big break that cause that massive hype around them. Same as gadar 2  . Riding on nostalgia. No one from our industry truly critised SRK's films and his acting too. He overacted in each one of them.

Luck by Chance is one of my favorite films. It was Zoya Akhtar's most heartfelt effort, made more with love and insight rather than just catering to the audience.
All shades of grey in almost all the characters - the shrewd and manipulative Vikram, the straightout liar but emotional Romy Rolly and Dimple the glam diva who hurls the choicest Hindi gaalis.

Udhayananu Tharam malayalam movie made about movies and its spin off was both huge success which showed the insides of movie business.
