Nothing ever is gonna beat the OG version, her younger voice, that little voice crack on the last "I wish I'd never grow up"... 😢

Oh cool, I wanted to cry this morning!

the "remember that she's getting older too" line about moms gets me every single time. Also the one about remembering your dad getting home from work. Fuck it hurts.

Her playing this with the Best Day during Eras broke me

Shout out to Evan's adorable dog 🥰

The line "Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home, Remember the footsteps, remember the words said"...and "I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone" kills me every time. I lost my dad 2 years ago, and 6 months before he passed was the last time I ever heard his voice. Its the small things like hearing his laugh in the back of a video or voice mail that break you down the most.

She does play this live. The songs she rarely plays or never played (some of her saddest honestly) are Ronan, Soon you'll get better, and Forever Winter

Jake your such a great dad.

there is LITERALLY a verse for every parent at every stage. My daughter is now 3 and I sob every time at the first verse.

21:33 I mean Taylor sings about how much she loves New York and how she found herself there but I think that verse just captures how horrible it feels when you realize you’ll never be a kid who doesn’t have to worry about any of those hardships. Doesn’t mean there aren’t any but you realize your parents aren’t there to shield you 100% anymore.

The one that cried, I think his name is Jake. The one that was a combat engineer.  You are a real man dude. Much respect.

This was my surprise song at the Reputation tour and I SOBBED

Penny is A Beautiful dog it's nice to see Penny being so comfortable with everyone.❤🎉❤

As a 36 year old this song makes me cry every time. Yes my childhood was wonderful, I have great memories of my childhood to.
This song reminds me that I was in such a rush to grow up that I never really appreciated those moments while I was young and now they’re gone. It’s also a stark reminder that my parents are getting older and they won’t be here forever so to really cherish every moment I get with them. You can still have great memories of your childhood and find this song emotional. The two emotions can co exist.

i got never grow up x the best day as my surprise song at the eras tour. i don’t have kids of my own yet but i was sobbing like a baby listening to those songs from my parents perspective. im their only child, 22 years old flying across the country alone for a concert and they still see me as their little girl they just brought home from the hospital 😭

This song has broken me time and time again ever since it came out. I’m 30 now, so I was a pre-teen when it came out. I barely had any idea of relationships even then. I wasn’t even in high school. Now, I have 3 kids and time is flying by so fast. I also have a memory problem due to a health condition so I’m having a difficult time holding onto the memories of their childhood and the time I’m getting with them. It’s killing me. My oldest are in school and recently my 5 year old got called “weird” at school by another girl in her class and since then she’s been self conscious about herself and not excited to go to school. Up until now, she’s been a very confident little girl who has loved going to school. Always asking if she’s going the next day, even getting upset if she isn’t.

For me, I grew up super fast. I didn’t learn anything from my mother like most little girls would. My mom was too busy wanting to play with jewelry stuff. I spent time with my grandfather more, and he’d take me out to do things instead of teaching me things. At 16, I met my fiancé. He’s 4 years older and everyone hated on our relationship. He got called a pervert and I got called a slut, especially after I moved in right before I turned 17 and he turned 21. But 14 years together, and 3 kids later, we’re still together. Even with my health having gone to the gutter and us been through living in a barn together at one point. I’ve been in 3 comas since we’ve had our children too. We are the only ones each other has besides our kids. We’re the black sheep of our families. Everyone hated on us but we’re stronger than anyone else I know. 😌💜

As a little brother, 11:21 breaks me... my sister and I were swifties, so when we heard this song she put her hand on me and gave me a smile that said she saw me as a kid and now when i hear this song i remember that .

And cry.

What’s so mind blowing to me is that she was only 18-19 years old when she wrote this beautifully written song! I loved this then in 2010, and I love this even more now as a parent of two young girls and who has lost her mom when I was 15❤ I cry a ton to this song but it’s so beautifully masterfully done in my opinion

Another taysway video !!!!

This hits so hard when your a parent 😭😭😭 I felt it when Jake started crying in the second verse 🫣
