First 10 mins of the movie “Every fifth round is a tracer” 20 minutes in “What are these lights sabers?!”

38:37 it’s their PTSD. They have been in the war for 3 years and lost a lot of their humanity in the process to survive. They are drunk and envious because Norman still has his humanity. Playing house with these German women isn’t going to change what they’ve done. At least that is how I always interpreted this scene.

The "light saber" effect is from tracer ammunition, they are not that bright in real life but its still pretty impressive.

Saying they need to leave the kid alone and stop giving him a hard time shows the difference in generations, they weren't being that bad and war doesn't care about feelings, if you didn't toughen up and grow up, you got yourself killed or worse, you got those around you killed too.

Y'all were talking when the Captain explained why the crossroads mission was so important. Delaying the Germans until us supply lines could catch up to advancing troops and keeping the Germans from getting behind the US troops and stopping the US advance. So it was strategically important to hold the crossroads.

The colors in the rounds (bullets) are tracers. Its like that in real life. Tracers are used to visually track your bullets as you shoot.

As the old saying goes “War is old men talking and young men dying”

When I joined the Army in 1993, right out of Basic an AIT at my first duty station at Ft. Benning, Ga. I’d been there 6months or so when we got orders to go to Somalia 🇸🇴. It was their second trip my first trip there. I got some of the same treatment as that young man. But I respected it and learned from it. I served 14yrs… Somalia, Kuwait and Iraq. Yes, I was an engineer, but like they told us…. Klled or Be Klled.

The real "War Daddy" survived the war and became an instructor despite having lost a leg.

They give Norm a hard time in the beginning because they know what they are about to get into. You lay it to him straight because if he's going to snap or run away it's better to have I'm do it now then when the sh*t hits the fan and he needs to do his job.

All. Four of them. Should get an Oscar. Emmy and Tony.

I think they’re watching it at 1.25x speed. You can see it’s faster

@jasonmcewen436 10 months ago (edited)

They were "mean" to him to bring him up to speed and get him with the program, because they were headed to battle, and the new driver was a rookie. Education of situational awareness based on the time they care to talk to the new guy...

@clayton_2421 10 months ago

Coming towards the end of the war, it was complete balls to the walls EVERYONE fight. Both sides trying to get as many people as possible even if said people would rather commit suicide than join

@Casualgamer_plays 10 months ago

wait why is the movie sped up? i think its in 1.5x or something.

That movie is based on a real person, if you want to see the real history behind Fury, you need to see this video: The Most Gangster Tanker Of WWII - Lafayette "War Daddy" Pool

As someone who’s served I would give my comfort to make sure that a fallen ally doesn’t get left in enemy territory

18:11 Michael Pena's character told Lermans earlier in the movie. Every 5 round in the guns is a tracer round to help them aim their fire. Tracer rounds being small pyrotechnic rounds that light up making it possible to trace the shot with the naked eye in daylight. Light moving that fast makes it kinda look like a laser shot.

I'm a former Tanker (Driver) as well, (with combat in Iraq) As painful as it is, I have to watch this movie at least once a month...super relatable to Norman!!
