It's so strange that the Duggars seem to really like Dolly, but would never allow their own daughters to ever be anything like her.

Dolly wanted children of her own, but couldn’t because she had endometriosis. She said that God probably wanted her to be the everyone’s mother.

And she quietly paid for her trans driver’s gender-affirming care 🥹

'Don't be a dumb ass, fix it.'
Never more wiser words spoken.

“THE KEY TO THE CITY? CHANGE THE LOCKS!” had me howling

Dolly talking so plainly about how she heard Dixie was an offensive word and just changed it breaks my heart because the world would be such a better place if more people felt so casually about how easy it is to not hurt peoples’ feelings. It really is so easy.

"duggar heavy season of life" okay recession indicator

She came from nothing and shared everything. I've never seen someone rise so high and stay so connected to her roots. She was truly special.

Jen, as a Tennessean I appreciate this video so much. My grandmother passed away in June, and she went to high school with Dolly. She used to tell us bed time stories about growing up with Dolly, so ever since I was little, Dolly has been so important to my family. Thank you for showing just how amazing Dolly was. She was so Christlike and this was a great way to uplift her work. Just thank you 🧡

Girl, if you haven’t watched 9 to 5, you must. I really honestly believe seeing that movie when it came out when I was 5, and frequent rewatches is part of what “radicalized” me. It’s so good and Dolly is a treat!

"If something is wrong don't be a dumbass, just fix it" - possibly my favorite Dolly quote I'd never heard until now lol

I will say Dolly is very well known among library workers. We deeply appreciate the Imagination Library and her steadfast commitment to literacy.

"Let's watch the Duggars live many people's dreams and not appreciate any of it." I feel better that you've said it, Jen. I had been thinking it was so cosmically unfair that these numpties and future criminals not only got to meet Dolly Parton but participate in her activities, while the rest of us heathing heathens who loved and appreciated Dolly never got to get within 100 miles of her. And then I felt sort of guilty because these sentiments aren't really in keeping with the spirit of St. Dolly.

I think for someone coming from such a high control religion and family meeting a woman like Dolly who is “free”, herself, but also incredibly charitable and kind is a special moment!

I thought I'd cried out all of my tears for our precious Saint Dolly, and here you have me crying again. I'm so happy ypu discovered her and you're enjoying her music. This is a great video,  I really appreciate it. Love ya, Reverend Jen!

What frustrates me so much with Conservative evangelical families like the Duggars is how comfortable they are with worldly ignorance. The kids start out saying how they know nothing about Dolly, and they end saying “it seems like she likes us.” Never was there a moment where the parents said, “you don’t know about Dolly Parton, so we’re going to sit down and let you listen to her music/watch her movies/hear her interviews so you can know a little more about the world.”

Her saying she was too busy to do God’s work so we need to stop judging each other is a great way to put it

Dolly was a TRUE Christian

I worked at Dollywood and met Dolly twice. She is the nicest person to have ever lived. The salt of the earth. I'm so devastated that she and her brilliant light and heart are gone. Thank you for this episode!

My sister and I used to joke that dolly should’ve kidnapped Jordyn and raised her

Dolly is the only person I can physically feel the goodness coming off of through a screen
