Both brothers: "The trio don't see anyone die until the battle of Hogwarts"

Poor Dobby man

I assumed Ginny’s fascination with the veil is because she almost died herself when Tom Riddle controlled her with his diary, so even though she hasn’t seen death. she has basically experienced it.

The obvious answer is Mundungus was on watch and bailed as soon as the Deatheaters showed up.

can we all agree Neville was hearing voices from behind the veil?

@bradleylong1727 5 months ago

I always read it as Ginny was entranced because she nearly died in chamber of secrets

I believe they would be able to see thestrels after the battle at the astronomy tower. The "big blonde death eater" kills one of his own by accident.

"We fly of course", said Luna... and then the dragons arrived.

When Brits say “Cross” what they mean is the Letter “X”. What we call Tic-Tac-Toe they call “Naughts and Crosses”

Terminal velocity. Thats the term youre looking for Ben, regading the speed of the descending thestrals

I think in defense of Harry's instincts, he's still got his skill there. His in person instincts tell him things are wrong, but I think Voldemort is mentally feeding him a lot of anxiety about the false vision

Ginny did have lost time when Riddle was possessing her.

4:24 what Harry literally does is steal a golden treasure from a dragon. This is a classic literary and mythological trope

@robertgronewold3326 5 months ago

Another reason why Ginny might be sensitive to the death arch is because she nearly died in Chamber of Secrets

@NicLikesFlowers 5 months ago

A possible explanation on Ginny’s connection with time, it could be connected to her trauma after being possessed by Tom Riddle. Remember she said she would come to, not remembering where she’d been or what she’d been doing for hours. That’s a lot of lost time in her first year that she can never get back.

I always imagined the thestrals flying like the old Spyro the Dragon leading screens. Dudes are just cruising along.

Oh, cats can look stern! When we're gone on errands for too long a time, our cat looks stern :), LOL.

“It’s got your name on” is a pretty common way of saying that in the UK. We do that, too, actually. You might say “I have my pants on. You’ve got your jacket on.” For some reason we just don’t say it like that in contexts like this
