1.66:1 is the most underrated.

No 1.85, 2.35, or 2:1 which are all incredibly common? and no mention of the legendary 2:20? Definitely check those out!  I'd also say 3:2 is far more of a trend than 4:3. 4:3 is academy and/or old tv haha. Still an entertaining video though so good work.

1.66:1 and 2.20:1 are the best

Having the 9:16 ratio above anything else in existence is crazy work

(Ignore the timestamp, YouTube doesn't know I'm talking about an aspect ratio)

The true S tier aspect ratio is 1:1. If it ain't a square, i don't want it

80% of the photos I edit will end up with a 4:3, IMAX, 21:9, Vistavision or Panavision 70 aspect ratio, I just can’t stop cropping my photos.

Amazing video quality. Narration, Filmography, and editing are reeeally good. I do see you becoming big on YouTube should you wish to. Personally, this video didn't add much value to me but it for surer had me hooked through the entire length and I wished it was longer. Wishing you'd find better stories to tell. Cheers

2:1 is the best for me, you get 2 full squares instead of 1 with/without an additional portion

the title and thumbnail gave me the impression that you were going to watch every version of the odyssey in theaters and then rank them based on aspect ratio. much different video than expected

I'm sorry, but 9:16 over 2.76:1 is wild😭
Ben-Hur and Sinners look incredible in that ratio.

that shirt is awesome man

There's only one ratio to rule them all: (1+sqrt(5))/2. It wasn't mentioned in the video but 3:2 is the most close approach to that.

You forgot 2:1, the fancy youtube video aspect ratio.
But yea I agree with 3:2 being S tier! Its great! I just wish I could shoot open gate on my sony a6700 😅
And phone sensors should be 3:2 too. 4:3 is fine, but doesnt mix well if you have images from both.

I can't, however, like the 2.39:1 enough!

i love 1.5 / 3:2. bugonia, primetime, train dreams (ish), obsession, magellan. also micro 4/3 supremacy

Good video but there was nothing about the odyssey or composition

CinemaScope will Always Triumph

S 1.66:1 1.41:1
A 4:3 2.39:1
B 1.85:1 2.77:1
C 16:9 3:2 2.20:1
D 1:1 1.19:1
F 9:16

2.77:1 is not Cinerama, nor is it an actual used AR

4:3 and even 3:4 are like the perfect compromise ratios between horizontal and vertical screens, like Jam2Go talked about before. 4:3 isn't that bad on a smartphone and 3:4 isn't that bad on computer monitors or TVs, but switching those out with 16:9 and 9:16 is about as fun as staring at the sun. And choosing a 1:1 square ratio as a compromise is like cutting your hands off to fix arthritis, so 4:3–3:4 is just the sweet spot. Plus our phone sensors are already 4:3 open gate and the software crops the footage anyway, it's a waste.
