Hey y'all. Welcome back to your girl Neesha B's channel. This is NEEsha B. in MS, Mississippi phlebotomist.

If blood bank keeps rejecting your type and screen, it's almost always this pink-top blood bank band. I'm showing you how I fill out my BB band at the bedside so it matches 100% — full legal name, date of birth, medical record number, date, military time, and initials — with a black ballpoint pen so it bleeds through and stays readable.

I cover the 3 mistakes that will get your blood sample rejected: 1) pre-labeling before you go in the room, 2) bad handwriting / gel pen smears, 3) missing time or initials. Do it right the first time so the patient gets blood on time and you get that clean stick with no rejection. We going to speak that into existence.

Let me know what are you guys struggling with the most — drawing labs or blood bank? Leave me a comment down below and I can help you with it in the next video.
