I got eight player lobbies running in that PC "port" a couple weeks ago, and I am dead serious when I say that was the most fun I have had playing a video game in a very long time. Cross-platform worked, we apparently had a 360 user in our lobby!!

The default gamma setting on the Switch version baffles me to this day!

Sega finally needs to make Virtua Racing 2 with the same Model 1 graphics.....  8 car types... 15 tracks... and a career mode.

I'd have agreed with you until this last weekend when I plugged in a wheel and took the new PC version for a ride....took me back to the early 90s...such an experience.  Nice video though, remember the shock around the price of the 32x version....way before GTA6 was 80 bucks hahaha

The Mega Drive cart was $199 AUD here in Australia back in the day, and worth EVERY cent of that too. I still love playing that version even now when i own physical copies of other versions.

So many reviews I've seen of the Sega Ages PS2 port neglect to mention the tire screeching, so I'm glad you pointed it out.  It really is THAT bad.

I often go back to the Switch version, it’s amazing.

THANK YOU for talking about and showing the brightness setting for the Switch port. There are so many videos that insult the colors of the Switch port, and for whatever reason are clueless about the brightness slider. Thus spreading misinformation. I understood it for the very first videos, because the slider was added in a patch in the first days after release, but there are so many that were made later that still go on about the colors being off. I know it's kind of M2's fault for not making it obvious (and especially not making its default setting match the original arcade brightness), but boy is it frustrating.

The PS2 version is my personal favorite, for the campaign, and additional cars and tracks. One thing others don't seem to mention (or notice?) is that it has longer musical stings compared to the other versions. I always find myself somewhat surprised when I play the other versions and the music cuts off earlier.

i had it on 32x back in the mid 90's. have it on switch now. it's lost some of its charm/nostalgia today, but that game was amazing to me, back then. i was a country kid, who didn't go to game arcades.

I think I spent about 10 billions hours on the Mega Driver version. Family friend owned a video and game rental shop and got me a copy at “cost”, which was still £45 back in 1992/1993!

I have all of these versions with the exception of the Saturn one. The only problem with the Switch version is the lack of analog on the shoulder buttons. I know you can use the right analogue, but it doesn't feel right. The Wanzai port on PC is great and you can use any controller with it. Apparently M2 were going to add the extra tracks and vehicles from Deluxe to the Switch version, but the 32X code wasn't anywhere near compatible with the arcade version enough to do so.

The sound of the tires on the PS2 version is so annoying. Great video guys!

Great video guys, spot on, no bad versions, just varying degrees of good / great versions. What a landmark game.

Great video man! The thing with the Saturn version that most reviewer forget is that it plays significantly waaaaay better with the analog steering wheel and it was design mostly to be played with that controller in mind. Not saying it's perfect but it's a huge improvement.

Played them all, at some point I still love the 32X Version with it's new tracks and the option to race them with the Stockcar.

Cracking vid mate. Knew the Switch AGES port would be top. I am surprised on the Megadrive and PS2 ones though I thought you'd have those swapped around!

Excellent round up Dan. Although I must say I do have a soft spot for the Saturn version just because it has so many tracks and I enjoyed that championship mode

I played the Megradrive version to death. I remember my saving half (4 weeks paper round money) and my dad giving g me the other half. £70 quid for a game back then was nuts!!.

virrrRRR-CHA RAY-cing

Without watching the full video. Virtua Racing Deluxe on the 32X was GOAT.
