I live in the foothills of those mountains. One time when I was little, my mom was working late so a baby sitter was taking care of me. At dusk, I remember hearing someone that sounded like my mom calling my name outside. My name isn’t very common either. I wanted to go outside and check up what my mom was doing home so early, but my babysitter wouldn’t let me. Instead she made sure the door was locked and all the blinds were closed and called my mom right after to make sure she was still at work. Lo and behold, she still was. My baby sitter was only a young high schooler at the time, but she was smart and trusted her instincts to know what something was deeply wrong. She told me to not even acknowledge it. Definitely was the right call
I'm a Norwegian that lived on the Navajo Indian reservation at 15. On Halloween I took a 5 year old trick or treating. When walking back on an empty road a man came out of nowhere walking faster and faster behind us. When we reached the property line where I lived I basically threw the 5 year old over the fence. The man was only a few steps behind me but when I jumped over the fence he was gone. I don't know what he was up to but I'm now 43 and I've never forgot the way he made me feel.
The very FIRST GUY on here -- having respect for the Native tribes, AND respect to not say the word of what he encountered -- just makes me heart sing. I know this is a scary comp, but I have to take a win where I can 😞😞👏👏💖💖
My best friend heard her name being said outside in a voice that sounded like her mom when she was completely alone and her family was out. She was about 14 years old. She called her mom to check if she was still gone, she said “yeah, why?” And my friend said that her heart sank in that moment. She told her mom that she could hear her outside saying her name. Her mom said “no, you don’t. Close all the windows and blinds/curtains, lock the doors. You don’t hear anything.” Years later when she thought about it, it dawned on her that she probably heard a mimic outside.
Wendigos do NOT have deer horns. They look like stretched out, desiccated corpses. They eat their lips off because of their constant hunger and they look starving. They are extremely talk AB’s can mimic you when hunting you. The deer horn idea came from a horror movie and isn’t what they look like. People who say that didn’t see a Wendigo. They watched the movie
Had an old gf that lived on the edge of the Wayne national Forest. She had this cat named Gilligan. On my bday it got hit by a car unfortunately 😢. Me and my gf buried the cat. Couple weeks went by and we came home and we seen Gilligan roosting on her front steps . I know it was him she seen him 2. She starts crying and as we got closer up the steps to the house he was nowhere to he seen. I absolutely know it was him. That has always stuck with me because we both instantly knew it was him. It was wild .
I love these stories. I am sure I would totally freak out if any of them happened to me. I have always loved the scary stories. I'm 64 yrs old now, still listening, still watching. ❤❤❤
